instead of bring nature in i brought the table out.
november in redlands has to be one of the most beautiful times of the year.
i put dried hydrangeas and dried chinese lantern in a rusty old urn
and mixed a glen plaid fabric remnant with an old tartan plaid pendleton blanket
spicy pumpkin soup in a tea cup
meet scout - alex and brittney brought her along.
it's rather nice when even the dog matches.:)
after dinner walk in the park
so that was my day in pictures.
how was yours? it's a lot of work no?
take care and have a lovely weekend.
xo
Well that's it, I'm green with envy, I cannot imagine anything better, and you styled it all so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteYou have risen above modestly mediocre to stunningly stylish. I am blown away!
ReplyDeleteHow utterly beautiful, it looks like an pictorial from a classy Sunday supplement. xxx
ReplyDeletelovely in its simplicity. but then again, we expect nothing less from you. thanks for sharing your style with us, janet. donna
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful table you've set!
ReplyDeleteI love all of it...
and to be able to dine outdoors in November is really quite remarkable.
It's raining buckets here and cold.
Have a lovely day and rest up after all your efforts.
XO
Lovely. It looks like the perfect day. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Janet!
ReplyDeleteIt was also so warm and beautiful here in Santa Barbara. Another blessing to be very thankful for.
I am relatively new to your site, but have enjoyed reading your posts. The outdoor Thanksgiving table was beautiful. I loved the floral chair covers, the Italian Countryside plates and the precious little dog. Simplicity truly is a gift to be thankful for!
ReplyDeleteIdyllic Thanksgiving you had. Cutest dog ever! Our 100% vegan Thanksgiving went over great. Our 3 guests loved everything and said they were impressed. I was soo glad --two guests wanted recipes - this to me is progress because for me, it is so upsetting that people will consume foods that will inevitably destroy their health...and the planet and cause animal suffering and death. If I can help a few people to become vegan I will be delighted. Thanks again Janet for all you do. You are a true inspiration!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJanet, The weather has been truly beautiful here,on Wed and Thurs, but today is so cold and windy. The young people are so beautiful. Love you tablescape. xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteStunning.
ReplyDeleteThis is all divine. Your son is so handsome.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing Thanksgiving tonight.
It's really a Fanksgiving as Australians don't really celebrate it.
I am expecting it to be no work at all as I am approaching it as I would any other Saturday night roast but maybe I'll be cheating and cutting corners which should save time.
The table looks divine. x
This looks amazing - hope you had a fantastic time!
ReplyDeleteLooks like perfect Southern California weather for an al fresco Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteLovely table.

ReplyDeleteLovely table and looks like a lovely day! Yes, it can be a lot of work but is often quite worth it, as your pictures convey.
ReplyDeleteJanet - quit your job! You need your own magazine!
ReplyDeleteSo rustic and glam all at once :)
ReplyDeletesoup in a teacup...so perfect. Everything looks so lovely Janet. I would have loved to had a place at that table.
ReplyDeleteLike mother, like son...he's very handsome and super stylish!
Have a wonderful weekend...drop me a line, it's been far too long. xo
Love it all from beginning to end, and can see a lot of effort went into it. Especially liked the soup in a teacup idea.

Mine wasn't so bad...not as busy as before. What a blessing to live among such beauty... thanks for sharing :) m.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful table Janet!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteOh, Janet, perfection! I lived in Southern California for years, and remember the regular pleasures of al fresco meals with great nostalgia. Your table is amazing, every choice rings true, bet the food was great, too, thanks for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteJanet,
ReplyDeleteI seem to have missed so many gorgeous posts....how did I do that? Your table looks so Ralph Lauren...and of course I mean that as a compliment. Your plaid inspired my table, but I must say your red, the floral and the daring dog...beats mine for sure!! Your pumpkin soup in a tea cup...love it and even your house (in the perfect shade of red) looks like a magazine spread. And I'll bet your food was delicious...and yes, we love leftovers. I generally cook every other day at least one part of the meal from the day prior. Fall in CA never looked better than at your house!
