You guys have seen this combo before but I wear it a lot. It reminds me of a jumpsuit without the jumpsuit issues. Super comfy and casual. I paired it with the relaxed muscle tank from Everlane which I'm in love with too bc I've reached the expiration date of wearing skin tight tank tops. I think these are a little classy. I rarely wear jewelry but I was heading out to lunch and thought this pearl necklace might add a touch of chic to the outfit. I used to have a bunch of different pearl necklaces, including a few from my mom and I took them to a local jeweler and they made one big necklace out of them. So this is the look of the day! x
PS - thanks for all the comments and questions. And mostly for putting up with me!
I love monochrome dressing. Makes me look taller--I need all the help I can get. Plus it's easy. And you're right--your outfit does seem like a jumpsuit. The pearls and updo are the perfect touches.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely. The necklace is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou always look so elegant and classy!
ReplyDeletePutting up with you? I think we're all eagerly awaiting your next post.
ReplyDeleteYou look so chic! I love all black with pearls.
I had a fundraiser cocktail hour thingy to go to last night for the nonprofit where I volunteer, and it was 90 degrees here. I wore my black pants, my leopard flats, and a white sleeveless buttondown, with pearl earrings and a pearl bracelet I never wear because I'm always either washing something or typing something. I felt perfectly like myself and perfectly chic, and then this morning I saw this! If it's good enough for you, it's good enough for me! Brilliant idea with the pearls.
ReplyDeleteYou look VAH (Very Audrey Hepburn) ;)
ReplyDeleteSo Audrey!
ReplyDeleteAJJ... you are ALWAYS an inspiration. always.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you mentioned Larry's dad is now in Loma Linda. I've meant to ask you about him and how he is. you were wonderful during that whole time. I'm glad he's doing well and is closer. xo
Gosh, don't you look so very sharp!
ReplyDeleteSuch ease, such elegance. Perfection.
ReplyDeleteI saw your outfit on Instagram and thought you reminded me of Audrey in Breakfast at Tiffany’s
ReplyDeleteI have a top in black from Eileen Fisher which is a lot like the one you are wearing and I plan to pair it with black EF pants...might just have to wear some pearls!
Monochromatic outfits help me look taller...how tall are you Janet?
Getting tired of you? NEVER!! I am loving all of your posts - keep them coming if you feel up to it! Honestly, I wear pearls almost ev. day in some way & I think they so easily transform an outfit from ordinary to elegant. You always inspire me! Sending love & hugs, Katie from Hunt. Beach
ReplyDeleteI just love black - so classic. Your pearls are wonderful. Having them all strung together is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteDear Janet, just loving everything you wear, write and do, but don't feel pressured from us, we all understand that life has been difficult for you these last couple of years. Lunching with friends is a lovely diversion.

ReplyDeleteLoving the necklace idea! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Janet, what a great idea with the pearls. I had the diamond from one of my mom's rings made into a solitaire pendant. Regarding the jumpsuit "issues"...I've never had a small waist but could always pull off jumpsuits when I was younger. Tony recently told me (after I asked his opinion while trying one on) that my jumpsuit days are probably over. He was just being honest. But it sucks. :(
