Gifted from Everlane
Hi honey. So yesterday I received my package of goodies from Everlane and I was so pleased to see this silk blouse on top. It is the
Everlane Clean Silk Relaxed Shirt. It has a traditional point collar and round hem that looks good tucked in or out. Plus it's made from their eco-conscious clean silk for more beauty and less waste. That link takes you to a pale pink version but the one I'm wearing is Rose and not yet released. So patience.
The soft rose color is ethereal. If I ever had to pick a perfect shade of pink this would be it. I'm excited about the other items in the package too but when I saw this shirt I gasped, ran to the bedroom to try it on and couldn't take it off. The silk is dreamy soft and washable. 👏
This is me all comfy in what I call the Command Center of the house. This is where you will almost always find me. I surround myself with my various journals and laptop and a sparkling water or cup of tea. I do all my great thinking here 😂. I read, blog, meditate and sometimes just stare out the windows. The afternoon sunlight is intense but when the temps are cool outside, it's a delightful place to just sit and be.
PS - please let me know in the comments if these photos or any others on my blog appear grainy or washed out. I'm wondering if it is the sun/brightness or if outdoor photos are different than indoor? any feedback is much appreciated. x

U r looking really good. love the blouse, too.
ReplyDeletethank u karen! x
DeleteI just grabbed my second cup of coffee and sat down to this I honestly like your version of modeling better than those on Everlane's site. They will sell more silk blouses from this post than ever. They really need to consider hiring you as a model. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteLove your command center and, as always, love to see new posts up. Thank you for the inspiration at every turn ...
Shelley
awww how sweet! don't hold your breath bc no one is gonna hire me to model but v sweet comment! x
DeleteI agree. You look so gorgeous - so elegant, so comfortable. Someone should have you model for them.
DeleteAlways a treat to see a post from you! I think the pink or rose shade of the blouse would be flattering to every woman's complexion! You look especially lovely, surrounded by the vase of alstromerias! Hugs to you! Katie from Hunt. Beach
ReplyDeleteyes, katie i thought the same thing. a friend came over this afternoon with totally different coloring (tan and blonde) and she looked beautiful in it! x
DeleteI share your coloring and have always thought that a pale color like that would make me look washed out but you look absolutely fab in that color!. Maybe I'll give that shirt a try when they get that color in stock. If I may ask, what size did they send you? I think I am also about your height / weight (5'-4" and 118 lbs) and I know Everlane sizes can run large.

ps...I don't comment often but read every post and just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. My husband and I are about your age and live very similar lives but on the East coast (Cape Cod). I always think of you and Larry as our "West coast counterparts" and even refer to you as such when mentioning something from your blog to my husband. :-)
thank u martha. i should have mentioned that. i ordered a 2 but the arms were a little tight on me in the bicep area, idk why but i often have that problem. so i reordered a 4 and it's perfect. so if your arms are thin then a 2. x
DeleteVery nice ... I think you look content. xo
ReplyDeletethanks sue! x
DeleteThat sounds lovely.......and you look lovely in the blouse !
ReplyDeletethank u patricia. x
DeleteYou look very much in command...I love that blouse...so silky looking and in such a feminine shade of pink and it goes so well with your vase of blooms.
ReplyDeletethank u leslie! x
DeleteYou looks so comfy and that color is perfection for you. Isn't nice to enjoy the play of light through the day? It is thick fog here today,it still feels like 7AM! Hope you are cooling off a bit there.
ReplyDeleteshooting photos around the sun here is a full time job lol. but yes i love the way the sun moves through my home. x
Deletesuch a pretty blouse, it is a beautiful, flattering colour. The images appear over exposed and grainy - is that a filter that was used?
ReplyDeletethanks noreen. no filter ever! it could be your monitor? i don't use any software to take away wrinkles or anything like that. if it is dark i will try to remove the shadows. it was late afternoon and the sun was blinding! i wonder if anyone else sees a grainy over exposed photo? if you do pls let me know. and do all the photos appear this way on your computer? thanks so much! x
DeleteWhat a lovely color....very becoming on you.
ReplyDeletethank you very much. x
DeleteYou look beautiful in that blouse, Janet. I think i might order it myself when that color becomes available.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I also see you photos as somewhat grainy and over exposed on my computer. Not that it's a problem for me, but I thought I'd give you that feedback.
thanks for that feedback janet. do all my photos appear that way or just this post? i'm wondering if it's the sun or just poor resolution on my phone? thanks and i so appreciate you guys! x
DeleteThe pictures do appear a bit washed out and grainy, but I thought maybe it was the look you were going for - you look fabulous! All that pink around you.
ReplyDeleteoh this disappoints me. maybe i need to upgrade my phone? i will look into it and thank u for weighing in jeannine. x
DeleteI love the blouse and the color - but I love pink. Looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteI agree that these photos look a little grainy and washed out, but I really like the effect. I thought it was intentional too. I've noticed this in some of your other photos, and yes, this might be some of the indoor shots. Most of your photos are crystal clear and the colors are true. Regardless, I get excited whenever I see a new post. xo
thank u colleen. it's so weird because they look clear on my laptop. i think it has to do with the indoor lighting? idk, but i'll try to get it fixed. x
DeleteThat's a terrific blouse! I'm going to have to give it some serious thought - you're right, the rose is the perfect color.
ReplyDeletethank you bb! x
DeleteYour photos don't look grainy to me, just soft and you look beautiful in that shade of pink.
ReplyDeletethanks betty. they don't look grainy on my screen either but they def do for others...i'll get to the bottom of this! x
DeleteThe pictures are perfect and pretty, IMHO, and that shirt is beautiful, and I'm sure that's everyone's opinion!
ReplyDeleteYou did make me chuckle about your command centre because my bed is mine too. I even once wrote all my Christmas cards there, BITD. I usually come up with lots of ideas in my command centre and then I'm grounded by "But it all starts with Mary getting out of bed"!
Hugs, Mary x.
haha mary. yes the getting out is so hard but important right?! lol x
DeleteHi there, my comment was not meant as a criticism, I prefer to view IG on my computer as I have a problem with arthritic fingers! Just viewed it again on my Iphone and the picture is perfect! Just thought I would give you that feedback. Kind regards
ReplyDeletenoreen thank you and i didn't take it as criticism at all! the opposite! i'm so greateful you mentioned it bc i don't want grainy or out of focus photos! i kinda pride myself on my photos and don't use filters. i do enlarge them and will lighten a dark photo but this room was so bright! anyway i'm working on it! x
DeleteLovely...perfectly lovely!! Your pictures appear on my Mac almost as paintings, which add a perfect dimension and note to your special charm and your peaceful surroundings. Very much like a story...
ReplyDeleteWhere may I vote for you as the next Everlane model?
awww thanks sally. well looking like a painting is wonderful! and i don't think everlane will ever need me as a model. but i'm grateful they are reaching out to me to try their beautiful items! x
DeleteI love this blouse. that pale pink is one of my favorite colors and it will never go out of style. In fact,I purchased one for my Mother from Ann Taylor probably over 30 years ago which was very much like yours. I keep telling myself that I don't need to buy any more clothes but perhaps I need to rethink this!
ReplyDeleteDarby
i have clothing that is over 30 yrs old too and what a testament to style and craftmanship. you most likely do not need this shirt butttttt, if you do this is a good one:) x
DeleteYou look smashing in the new blouse, Janet. I wonder when that color will be available? Your readership will probably cause a sell out! And I thought you were making the photos grainy on purpose; I use a p.c. to read your blog. Several of them have looked this way recently. Regardless, you are lovely!
ReplyDeletethanks judith. i found out yesterday it will be available 10/30. i'll add that to the blog post. thanks for the input so lately they look grainy. i will try to look at them on a friends computer to see. working on getting it sorted out. x
DeleteYour photo in pink is so very pretty and feminine, puts me at peace. Love the shirt and considering a purchase. The background wallpaper is fantastic, any info on it? You look so perfect in your surroundings. A fan!
ReplyDeletethanks bobbie. the paper is Raphael by Sandberg
DeleteAlways a good day when you post ,Janet. That dreamy blouse is perfect on you.xxx
