this weekend...

While Wanda Jackson is playing in the background, I'm packing for a fun-filled weekend in Las Vegas.  I haven't seen the mr in 3 weeks.  We are meeting in sin city to see what kind of trouble we can get into.  We were married there almost 31 years ago.  What a day that was.   Larry and i, both wearing levi's and cowboy boots, squeezed into his dad's brand new porsche and zipped to vegas and tied the knot.  His dad was our only witness.  So this morning i click over to the lovely Patricia Van Esche and see her beautiful drawing of a weekend valise and decided to take a picture of mine and wish you all a fun-filled weekend too.  See you next week, with lots of pictures of food and fashion.

  3. Lovely satchel. I like black and natural together - very chic.

I grew up in Las Vegas - 1973 - 1985. My mom married her second husband in the '90's at the Little Chapel of the West and I was her maid of honor.

How fun to reunite with Larry in the city where you were married....romantic, too.

  22. Jannnneeetttt!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just had an idea of Unmitigated Wonderfulness. It came to me out of Nowhere while dancing around to your White Striped boyfriend who was belting out Doorbell and wondering when I was going to ring it.

    Now listen to this:

I arrange for Mr FF to cancel all court appearances, lunches and and trips to the golf course. I instruct him how to care for a baby. Maybe my mother makes a cameo appearance to help him out. I pack a bag. I fly to LA. We get a car. I'm thinking a convertible. Hang on. My hair will get wrecked. We scrap the convertible. We drive to Vegas in a sort of Roadtrip Formation. We listen to Doorbell. Loudly. On repeat. We arrive in Vegas. You can feast on vegan stuff and I'll eat lots of meat. Can't you just picture it now??????

    Larry can come too. x

  23. Well I'm signing up for the trip with you and FF, esp if we can eat a little protein here and there.

But until the fab time have a fun time with the Mr., stay out of trouble or at the least stay out of jail!

  29. ps - on the off chance you are looking at your blog while in vegas. check out red velvet cafe, they have lots of vegan choices (they whole restaurant may be vegan, i can't remember).

and if you want to be naughty, check out ronald's donuts. half their donuts are vegan.

quarrygirl.com (my fav vegan blog) tracks vegan fare in vegas, too - you can see posts and pics from vegas restaurants here: http://www.quarrygirl.com/category/restaurants-not-la/las-vegas/.

look forward to seeing your return home post!

  36. Janet,

I am just catching up on a few posts I've missed. I love that you and your husband met when you were only 17. Have a wonderful time celebrating your anniversary and remember what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Perhaps you can get a new found rush by sneaking into a headlining show, since movie theaters don't do it for you any more!
