My breakfast this morning...
Shredded potatoes, onion and garlic with Habenero Ketchup & the sweetest cantaloupe.
Listening to records.
And a peek into the office and the lovely navy blue.
Hope your Sunday is going well.

I think I like the navy blue room.....let's see more !
ReplyDeleteRoom is looking good.
ReplyDeleteOHHHH!!!!! I am waiting with breathless anticipation.
ReplyDeleteOh yum. And oh peace. The idea of records in your beautiful serene space. Sigh. The navy is so, so, Italian or something. Meaning with patina. Love it.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering, how do you like the record player? I was thinking of buying the new "vintage" style player, but how is the sound quality?
ReplyDeletei have no complaints debra. i like that it is portable and moves around easily.
DeleteLoving the blue.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if you could let us know how you made the potato patties! They look so good and healthy. Gina
ReplyDeletehi gina. i made them like traditional patties. shredded a potato and about 1/4 onion and added s&p and 1T flour. formed little patties and browned them. super simple!
DeleteI knew the blue would be fab! Would you please write an e-book of recipes? I'm positively living on that eggless egg salad this summer. And yes, I've had it for lunch and dinner in the same day. It's that good.
ReplyDeletetell me about it. we have steve to thank for that. i had it for lunch today too!
DeleteGreat minds think alike! Thank you Steve. Still, an e-book would be great. Something to do in your copious free time:-)
DeleteWhat a great idea Jennifer
ReplyDeleteJanet I'd love some of your favourite recipes...
I think I must have missed the eggless egg salad recipe!
Thank you! I agree, we need your recipes on an e book! Gina
ReplyDeleteHi Janet, did you make that habanero ketchup yourself?
ReplyDeletewell sort of. all i do is squirt a little sriracha sauce into ketchup and blend it. how much depends on how hot you like it.
DeleteDear Janet - I Love reading about your vegan meals. Your "month of vegan meals" last year was so inspiring and beautiful! Any chance that you might do that type of feature again? Also love seeing your beautiful home with your lovely kitchen and pantry and so much more. On top of this...a fabulous garden! I want to be just like you! Thank you for sharing, I thoroughly enjoy each and every post. I am a huge Fan!! You make my day! Very sincerely, Jeanne
ReplyDeleteIf you posted various items several times a day, it wouldn't be enough. There's something inherently comforting about your site's elegant simplicity, and I am over the moon when I see a new posting. I have to agree with anonymous at 5:28 PM...I love reading about your vegan meals and want MORE!
ReplyDeleteYour decorating is sublime. An all-time favorite was the rose-upholstered chair you brought home in the Prius.
Thank you.
I love the Navy blue wall color! The flag is so good. Breakfast looked pretty good, too!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely surprise on a monday morning in Europe to find a sunday post! the navy looks great and so do the potatoes. i love potatoes in any form at any time of the day. in my hometown cologne in germany, we traditionally eat shredded potato pancakes (though made with egg) with what I think is called Molasses in the US (dark sugar syrup made from sugar beets) or apple sauce and I just love those. I wish you could get Vegenaise in Europe - all variations of vegan mayonaise I have tried over here are just inedible.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week
Mireille
Navy room looking good as is that breakfast! Oh, and is that a Patsy Cline album in the mix? Paula
ReplyDeletepatsy is always in the mix. :)
DeleteThe navy is an amazing background for the flag, white sofa and the prints on the walls. Well done Janet, looks like a wonderful space.
ReplyDeleteThat navy wall looks fantastic and so does your breakfast! x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, the 33 LPs/rpms; no sound like them; that first moment when they start up almost a little scratchy...vinyl, yeah!
ReplyDeleteWould get paid, go to the record store (we had them back then, like bookstores...), come home with 3 or 4 albums and study them copiously, reading all the liner notes, memorizing the covers, studying the sleeve photos, laying flat on the floor of my first apartment on my tummy, elbows propped, wanting to crank it up if it wasn't for the cranky guy downstairs...
records or vinyl as they call it today hold so many memories don't they? i still remember the first record i ever bought. the stones honky tonk woman 45rpm and brown sugar was on the b side. i wore that thing out.:)
DeleteI am a bit jealous of your breakfast. That looks so delicious. I would love to spend my Sundays like this, listening to records, dancing around my living room and munching throughout the day. Thanks for sharing!
