haunting images
As most of you know, Los Angeles has been on fire. Today the fire is 91% contained. My son, Chip sent me these images this morning. My heart goes out to all those who have suffered losses and to the firefighters who risked their lives for us. I can't help but feel so grateful for all I have here in the safety of my home. Click on pictures for details. The images speak for themselves...

Striking images Janet. Was it your son who recently moved up to the Hollywood hills? Scary to be so close. I see the images on tv of firefighters are geared up and ready to take orders and they give me chills. It's so sad when homes are lost, especially when you consider how hard these guys work and what they risk to keep it from happening.
ReplyDeleteStriking photos and so moving...these guys are real heroes. The amount of loss is staggering. My heart goes out to everyone.
ReplyDeleteTracy,
ReplyDeleteYes he was close to the fire, but never in immediate danger. The smoke was unbearable.
Oh My Gosh!!!! Janet, I didn´t know this was happening... hope the fire has been controled and so sorry for the men who give their lives.
ReplyDeleteGood to know your son is safe.
Blessings

You are right.....these pictures do tell it all.
ReplyDeleteSuch a waste.

Startling images. My folks have been giving me updates over the phone but since we don't have a TV here, your images are the first I've seen of the fire. Heartbreaking. We just had a fire in these neck of the woods and it's just terrifying. Soooo glad to hear that they have it mostly contained. Hugs. Trina
ReplyDeleteWe aren't getting any reporting up here in NorCal, like the stunning images your son took...
ReplyDeleteThay are at once poignant, and and comforting in that way that can only be felt when people come together in crisis.
Bravo!
Hello Janet...
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you came to visit...Isn't blogland just the best fun?
I'm so sorry to hear about the fires in California. I heard that this one was arson? It's so horrible to think that someone would actually risk people's lives for what they consider a thrill. Devastating.
Warm regards,
Spencer
Janet, I am so glad your son and his home are safe. We are always afraid of forest fires up here in Big Bear Lake. I think every state has its bout with mother nature. Tornados, Hurricanes, Floods etc and we have our fires but it really hurts when they are set by humans. Hugs, Connie
