white and gold

Hello, today I'd like to introduce you to Marianne from White and Gold Design.

Remember when I showed you this gorgeous fabric while I was in London?  Well the truth is that Marianne had suggested this very fabric to me for some living room pillows.

And Marianne has excellent, excellent taste.
That's her bedroom up there.   So beautiful!

So I took her advice - and I'm so happy I did.

Here is the deal, in addition to having a beautiful home and a full design business, she offers to help her readers solve decorating dilemmas, one question at a time for $15.
Can you believe that?  Fifteen Dollars!

While there are still problems with my living room she just focused on my exact question.
All I did was send her a picture and asked her advice for fabric options.  She sent me several suggestions in all price ranges.
I mean how easy is that?

So if you have a nagging decor problem that you'd like help with, drop her a line.

and even if you don't, go have a looksee here,
Everything she does is gorgeous.

  16. It almost leaves me breathless to realize how two pillows and a change in curtains can make such a HUGE difference. Not that I didn't love the other curtains. I did. Very much. This change is very good as well. I enjoyed seeing this. Really made me stop and think.

  21. hi! I came back, with a thought.... what about adding that black and white (ya know, your favorite colors!) Ikea rug that Marianne has in her bedroom in your living room? It's a great rug; I've been dying to use it somewhere, but got nothin;) I think it would look fab!

    2. I say go for it Janet! You can't go wrong with the price and could always return the rug if it doesn't work. I agree with Joan, I think it would look great in your living room. :)

    3. yes, my sweet friend... you have the guts! As Linda said you can always return it, though I don't think you will want to!! No guts.... no glory;)

    4. you're right about the guts/glory thing. my other issue with the striped rug is that the white stripes get so dirty so quickly. that's what happened to the dash and albert rug i used. but i will give it more thought as i do love that rug. thanks for your input you guys.

  22. OMG Janet, what simply gorgeous fabric! I agree with what everyone else has said - especially that it brings to the eye the beautiful subtle colors in the painting - and also any greenery you bring in from your garden.. And takes my eye also to the lovely aqua and green book bindings under your plant. Did you buy the fabric in London? It creates a beautiful spring and summer look to the room... Imagine just a bit of the right fabric can bring the sunshine in! Lovely!

  24. Few years ago my mum gave me 2 of these coffee mugs

    http://shop.villeroy-boch.com/public_en/tavola/dinnerware/country/flora/flora-mug-4-bleuet-0-30l.html

and I always loved the 'colour scheme' on them so I used it also as inspiration for 'colours' in the house - your fabric would go very well with them

Your house looks very summary and fresh

Have to agree with you on the carpets though... I had a lovely navy & white striped rug and the 'white stripes' just got dirty too easily....

    Have a great day
