I love this basic outfit for lots of reasons. They are pretty much classic pieces and because everything but the sunglasses were found at thrift stores the whole look was under $20.
Yesterday was hot but I still stayed cool yet covered up.
I was running errands, so in and out of the car and I was comfy.
Price breakdown...
Banana Republic blouse - $3 GW
Skirt - $1 bargain bin Sunset Vintage
Cole Hahn Sandals - $8 Assistance League
Handbag - $5 GW
Wishing you all a beautiful weekend. Thank you all for your continued prayers and love. You are the best. xoxo
Sometimes when you find a bag like that, even with just the handling/processing at the thrift, it can get soiled too easily; so, great score.
ReplyDeleteAnd you do continue to have my most healing prayers, you and L, Janet.
I heard you on that upcoming rain opportunity next week; let's hope!
i know, fingers crossed for us all here in so cal for some rain. x
DeleteYou look chic and classic! It’s hard to know what to wear when it’s cold at night and early morning, then 90 during the day. I love the skirt. Sending positive thoughts

ReplyDeleteWith your beautiful face and style basic is defythe way to go! It really lifts your spirits slipping on something that’s flattering, comfortable and so reasonable!!! I hit the thrift store today. It’s been a long time since I’ve had the chance to go. I scored a jean jacket I intend to wear with just about everything a Talbot thermal Kelly green vest jacket and perfect beautiful vintage 100% cotton pillowcases. $11.00 for everything!! It sounds like you know you and Larry continue to be in our daily prayers. I hope you feel the love and positive thoughts we have for both of you.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Kathy

DeleteDearest Janet, You have been such a great inspiration to me for many years now. You are one of the very first blogs that I started to read and one of the few that I have continued with. I have learned so much from you, from style, green living, a clean diet, minimalism, decorating, cleaning, gardening, frugal living, etc...You are such a classy and elegant lady with an excellent eye for beauty. I am so happy to see you are still nurturing your creativity during this time. You need it and deserve it! I love the look of this outfit and especially the sunglasses. Wishing you a beautiful weekend! xoxo Deni
ReplyDeletethank you so much for such a sweet comment deni. x
DeleteI so admire your simple, elegant taste. You always look smashing! I do have one question, and if you have covered this before, I apologize. I always feel squeamish buying thrift store shoes. Are there any tips for getting them shaped up before wearing them? Do you wipe them down with alcohol or something? I hate to miss out on some great finds.
ReplyDeletethank you lori. well i guess i don't buy anything toooooo worn out or shabby looking. i do a thorough cleaning on the outside and inside of the shoe. i always wipe the inside down with an anti bac wipe and then follow up with some alcohol on a cloth. all of the best 2nd hand shoes i've bought were all either near new or barely worn. my leopard loafers were brand new! just keep an open mind and do a good inspection before you buy. x
DeleteThis is a fabulous look...and you've scooped some great bargains! Win Win.
ReplyDeleteNo one would ever guess that you put this outfit together for $20.
Thrift shops help stretch the budget...I recently found a Dansk teak chhese board with a knife that also acts as a handle...modernist and very cool for $5!
XO
thanks leslie. great find on the cheese board! x
DeleteJanet, you look classy as always...you have the best luck thrifting. Me not so much! However, I recently scored two pairs of (new) Munro sandals (normally $135) on ebay for $16.00 apiece so I am pretty happy about that! A couple of new sweaters too for around $12 each. I bought a Who What Wear Utility Jumpsuit at Target with a 20% off discount. I love it but need to loose a few lbs. for it to fit better in the waist. :o/
ReplyDeleteDid Larry have his CT scan yet? Thinking of you both daily.
Linda
xoxo
sounds like you have some pretty good luck too linda! he had his cat scan last monday and tomorrow we get the results. we've both been so nervous all week. plus tomorrow he has another chemo infusion which is always hard. so a lot of anxiety. prob why i'm posting so much. x
