Hello Loves. The weather here in Southern California has been amazing lately with crisp mornings and warm afternoons. Gorgeous evening breezes that cool everything down. What more can a girl ask for? Well a lot actually...but I'll leave that alone for the moment.
I posted this vintage leopard housecoat yesterday on my Instagram and promptly lost about 20 followers 😧. Whatever, I think it's pretty. It was hanging in my kids store for months and I never really "saw" it. Then on Monday the clouds parted for a sec and there it was.
PS - Larry update - He completed his 8th chemo session last week and they are def getting harder and harder. We are still v hopeful that they are working. He's scheduled for another cat scan in a week or so. Saying my prayers day and night for a miracle. xo
You are a style icon, lady! May everything work in your favor in the coming days...xo from east Tennessee (where it's still hot as hell!)
ReplyDeleteI like it!
ReplyDeleteSending all my good thoughts for Larry, thank you for letting us know how he's doing.
You look beautiful in the robe, very NOW!!! Praying the scan shows good results!
ReplyDeleteYes … please to more fall trends.
ReplyDeleteSending healing vibes to Larry from North Vancouver, Canada. Wishing you both the very best.
Love this on you Janet! Your hair looks like it is getting longer too such a versatile length for up do’s and pulled back as you have done here.
ReplyDeleteHope Larry gets good news after that scan.
Yes please to more style ideas for us over 60 women.
XO
Oh dear Janet, that says an awful lot about the petty people on Instagram eh? You look stylish, end of.
ReplyDeleteKeep faith in those treating Larry and in the inner strength he has.
Hugs and love to you both, x.
thanks for the update on Larry. I saw your insta post but all I could think was, 'yes, but how is Larry??'
ReplyDeletelove to you both. donna
So much you both are going thru with his treatment. An exhausting time both physically and mentally. Do hope the scan will be good news. Remember your readers think of you both on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteI too like the housecoat.
You look marvelous and who cares about those un-followers, anyway? The real deal stick with you. Praying so hard for Larry.

I think you look fabulous in it! I think of you and your husband often.
ReplyDeleteI love this on you, what a babe! Thinking of you and Larry all the time. Hoping and praying for a good result from the scan. xxx
ReplyDeleteThe cost looks wonderful! Yes, please, more clothing posts.
ReplyDeleteGood news about Larry! Always in our thoughts and prayers!

DeleteI meant “coat” not “cost”!
DeleteAs a fellow 60-year old, I say yes to fashion posts! Sending prayers, peace and the room to breath to you and Larry.

I would absolutely love to see more fashion posts. I have seen more than one miracle in my lifetime and am asking for one for you and your husband. 🙏🏻
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd let us know more about L when you felt the time was right. You both and especially him have my every prayer for that miracle and healing.
ReplyDeleteJanet, it's so nice to 'see' you again. 60 looks good on you. And I'm into whatever you want to send our way. Always interested in the meals/recipes...how you'll be transitioning to diff foods now that autumn is upon us. Fashion of course because you wear it well!
(I caught an AXSTV interview with Jack White recently. He was SO polite with interviewer Dan Rather and conducted himself so articulately and thoughtfully. I was impressed. [Those of us who've come here for awhile remember your love for Jack White!])
Yes, I think she's dumped him! Poor Jack! :-))
DeleteThanks for the update, Janet - hugs from UK.
You look absolutely fabulous in this piece. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI loved the H&M dress (GP & J Baker)you posted about recently so much I promptly purchased one for myself and I LOVE it so much. I feel so pretty in it. So can't thank you enough for that recommendation.
Thanks for the update on Larry. Still praying for you both every single morning.
The housecoat is perfect for you! And yes, to fashion posts! I'll take any posts at all...I love every one. I would never unfollow you, and can't imagine why anyone would, especially because of a fashion post?! Hoping for good news from the Cat Scan. Keeping you both in my thoughts as you continue to persevere. xo
ReplyDeleteSo stylish! You always look perfect.
ReplyDeletePrayers for Larry. The treatment is so brutal, hope he feels better soon.
I'm glad you don't care about losing Instagram followers. I recently wore an outfit that I loved and had several at the event comment that they would never wear something like that...so glad i overheard and let them know that I was SO glad they wouldn't. It truly didn't bother me and made me wonder why everyone wants to look so damn much alike! whatever ....Age has given me confidence that I never had when I was young! Keep posting your beautiful style/self.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you gave us an update on Larry - I pray for both of you. No one understands unless they have been there too - It's one of the hardest and yet sweetest times ever. Please keep us posted!!
You look very sharp! And I LOVE your hair! Yes, I would love more posts on how a 60 year old woman dresses. Thanks for the update on Larry - you both remain in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes to over 60 style--I need all the help I can get and I especially love the classic, vintage pieces. Prayers continue.
ReplyDeleteYou really do look stunning! I have not seen a photo of you in a while and I am loving the longer hair. thank you for the update, I will continue to pray for you and Larry
ReplyDeleteDarby
I join you in prayers for your Larry. I admire your spunk and style.
ReplyDeleteBeing that I'll be 58 later this year, I would love to see what a 60 year old is wearing! Lifting up prayers for you and Larry. God is the great physician!
ReplyDeleteI would love more “style over 60” posts - whether in clothes, household, design, or food, you have such a wonderful sense of style that I’m always interested in your point of view. Prayers for Larry and you. Georgia
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous in the leopard housecoat, & I agree with your "whatever" regarding the lost followers. In the grand scheme of things, it is not important. You have great style, & part of that is knowing what your own style is. I will be attending my 55th high school reunion soon, & have agonized a bit about what to wear to 3 different events, though all are fairly casual. A good friend told me to be myself, which is casual & fairly sporty (yes, even at my age). So I am taking that advice & wearing what is comfortable for me, & yet will be appropriate for the events.
ReplyDeleteWill pump up the prayers for you & Larry...such a difficult journey for both of you. Godspeed!

You look elegant. I admire your style and verve. I think of you and Larry and all that you are going through and wish you the best.
ReplyDeleteDear Janet,
ReplyDeleteFirst, prayers and more prayers for Larry and you. It's so hard to stand by and watch people, families endure this. I've thought about both of you and your kids and grandkids so, so many times and started a prayer right there on the spot. Prayers continue for full and complete healing ...
As far as you and your style and your leopard, the whole thing is just so good. You just get it on every level: Your look and your clothes, your home, your plated food display, your whole outdoor area -- I love it.
Keep it coming!
Shelley
Whenever a woman does something that she wants to do it will 'upset' someone. To blazes with those insta unfollowers. I really like the variety of 'looks' that you come up with. The variety and surprise is part of the fun and is unexpected. It's a gorgeous dress and you wear both the pattern and shirt style beautifully. Keep going with the fashion tips. Like learning .
ReplyDeletePraying also that Larry's scans show promising signs. xo
oh AJJ! why on earth would people do that over a robe??? I don't get it!
ReplyDeletethe only thing I can think of is if they thought it was real leopard??!! which you would never do! if they want kindness … I know of NO ONE more kind to animals than you. or people for that matter! they should have been following you when you literally stopped your life at your own home to make a home in the mountains for Larry's dad! you quietly and serenely made yours and Larry's room there without disrupting the old gentleman and helped him regain his health. you're Vegan. and have taught so many of us to enjoy life without harming others. human or animal. we love you. that sounds weird doesn't it? but it's not. it's what we were put here to do. to love each other. and look at the support you both are getting. if ever there was a need for kindness for ALL of us it's NOW! be of good courage darling AJJ. Larry is strong and has our prayers. and so do you! XOXO
Ignore the loss of followers - my numbers go up and down when I don't post anything! There are a lot of people that "advertise" by following you, then unfollow a week or so later. I think the dress is fab, and you look amazing. Love the flat shoes with it, you look super chic.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update on Larry, I have been thinking of you... will keep everything crossed that you get some good news. xxx
Love your style. I purchased the H & M dress you posted about and I love it. Love your hairstyle too. I have been praying and will continue to pray for you & Larry. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHow could anyone abandon you over a housecoat?!! And one that you look great in!
ReplyDeleteAm sending daily prayers & thoughts for healing & peace to both you & your husband. Hope he gets a good report after the cat scan.
And, yes, would love to see more fashion posts from you. You have a real eye for style & always look elegant, no matter what you're wearing.
Hugs to you & lots of love, Kathy
Kathy
Love your style Janet, the house coat looks beautiful on you !!
ReplyDeletePraying for both of you !!
Hi Janet!! I don't think of leopard as a trend- it just seems like a timeless classic to me. You look so gorgeous! Love your hair, by the way. I am not 60 (yet!) but would love to see more fashion posts from you as I find your style timeless and classic (just like the leopard print) and one that easily spans decades. Thanks for the Larry update- I often think of him and so glad that you are hopeful that treatment is working- hooray!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely on trend - leopard print is EVERYWHERE in Britain just now and you look lovely in it.
ReplyDeleteSending good wishes for a successful outcome to Larry. Chemo is so hard on the system but the results are improving all the time. Go gently.
You are inspirational... your quiet strength and courage are so admirable and illustrative... more people should follow your lead in life--in so many ways. You are a lifestyle icon! Sending all good wishes to you and Larry for the very best outcome...Debbie
ReplyDeleteYou look very elegant in that leopard print! Sending prayers to Larry.
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing in the leopard print and I love your style. Yes, please, more fashion posts! I guess the people that unfollowed you don’t know that leopard print is big this year (isn’t it always?.) I already purchased a leopard print, long shirtdress this season and I’m sure I had to pay more than you did. Darn! Prayers for you and your husband.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous piece of clothing! So chic! I would wear it to a holiday gathering! I'm sorry about what you and your husband are going through.
ReplyDeleteYes to fall fashion posts!! you are so inspiring! Prayers for Larry Always.
ReplyDeleteBetsy
Go, Larry. So tough, the job he is doing. Know you as coach are working mightily along side of him. So, cheers for "coach," too.
ReplyDeleteOf far less importance, but since you asked: YES, pleeease while considering fall fashion for the 60 year old gals, please don't forget we who are in our 70s. Thank you.
Continued prayers. Love the leopard, btw. ~Miranda
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous and stunning. You lost 20 but maybe gained more!!! So hoping for Larry to be well again.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely and such a flattering shape. An unexpected take on leopard. The power of communal prayer is strong. Sending mine as well.
ReplyDeleteWow, so pretty. Prayers to Larry and to you and your family. Okay, I am going to stop worrying of what is to come to my little world in North Carolina with that rotten FLORENCE! Redirect my energy to Larry. Godspeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update on Larry. Praying for your whole family. Yes I love your classic style! I have followed you for years. We both have a love for Ralph Lauren😊
ReplyDeleteHi Janet. Thanks for the update on Larry. Praying for both of you. Count me as another yes to fashion over 60.
ReplyDeleteBarbara In Northern CA
I am starving to death for stylish 60 posts, please keep it up! Also bought a dress from the new H&M collection that you recommended and I get so many compliments on it. Thank you, thank you. Blessings and strength to you and Larry.
ReplyDeleteJanet, you call this a housecoat. Are you talking about a housecoat that you wear over your pj's or gown? That is what we call housecoats down here in the South. Because it sure looks too pretty on you to wear around the house! You look great in it and it looks like it was made just for you. Perfect fit! Prayers for your Larry and strength for all of your family.
ReplyDelete"Fall Trends and how a 60 yr old would wear them?" Yes please. Also, I'd love an update on your weekly food shopping - I really got into that series!
ReplyDeleteWould definitely like to see more on how to be a trendy-ish 60-year-old. I'm in that category although most of my friends are years younger. Don't want to hit the rocking chair just yet.
ReplyDeletePrayers for your Larry.
Yes to trends for 60-year-olds. Most of my friends are years younger and I'm not ready for the rocker just yet.
ReplyDeletePrayers for your Larry.
I too am a great believer in miracles and the power of prayer. My prayers are added to all those above as I have a written list and you and Larry are on it. I love your style, your attitude to life and all the elements of the lifestyle you model for us. I'm always inspired by your posts, whether food, fashion, budget or decorating. You are an icon and I concur with your other reader who calls you AJJ. Stay strong! xo
ReplyDeleteYou look awesome in the leopard print! Prayers for you and Larry as you're in the great struggle. You are both so courageous.
ReplyDeleteWill continue prayers for healing and comfort for Larry and for you.
ReplyDeleteWould love fashion updates as I am 60 as well and need them!
Jamie
I just wanted you to know that I have been praying for your husband and for you.
