November Garden

I planted these chrysanthemums 3 years ago for Alex and B's wedding and so far they keep coming back.  It's hard not to remember that beautiful day when they come into bloom.

They really brighten up an otherwise tired landscape this time of year.  I have so much work to do still regarding other garden areas.  Namely the rose garden which I will do a separate post on.
Lots of decisions for that area.

Do any of you remember Alex and B's wedding we had here?  If not or if you are new, I included a video link of the day.  I'm still struck by how frugal the whole affair was.  And the house was red then!

  1. Have to say, love the guy, just read this (Billboard): "Neil Young is releasing a new album and an entire high-quality digital catalog on the same day...the Neil Young Archives will open (and, at least upon launch), the comprehensive collection will be free. "December 1st will be a big day for me," Young wrote on Facebook. "My archive will open on that same day, a place you can visit and experience every song I have ever released in the highest quality your machine will allow. It's the way it's supposed to be. In the beginning, everything is free."

Oh, that wedding; I'll never forget all the wonderful photos and the good vibe; SO much enjoyed seeing that video; thanx for posting about it. Was perfect; I wanted to be there! And now they have two kids, last we heard here...so, it's a beautiful life and you helped make it very beautiful for them as they began their first day in marriage.

My November garden? Roses seem weak; can't keep down the purple sage. Peruvian daffodils are thriving, weird & white. Trees all over town are starting to turn; seeing some faded scarlet, orange and yellow. We have to wait for it this late in SoCalif, don't we?!

  3. Loved seeing that video again...such a lovely garden wedding and a wonderful family memory. The wedding decor is perfect for a country living magazine shoot...the truck with the cake, the tables and lights all strung up...even better that it did not cost the earth!
Our November garden has some roses and limelight hydrangeas still putting out blooms! Lovely to see on these rainy PNW days...we are making some changes in our back yard...I will write a post on it soon.

    Thanks for sharing,

  8. I do remember! It was lovely. I can't believe it was three years ago. It was a testament that good taste does not necessarily mean expensive. Love your home and yard.

  13. The wedding was absolute perfection. Don't want this to sound uppity in any way but as the camera panned and took in all the guests, it was as though only the hip, only the coolest, were their assortment of friends...the fellas confident in their look, laidback casual, a hint of vintage, sunglasses. So cool.

  14. Thank you for sharing the wedding video. I stepped back to a lovelier time when a weddings didn't have to have sword swallowers and stilt walkers (no kidding, been to one with that! Sheesh!) Such a sweet day for all.
Love your blog and jump right to your post when I see it in my in-box. Nice to see a California blog that reflects a normal life here. Real Housewives of Real California! RHoRC....

  18. Do you remember some time back posting a picture of Alex and B on his motorcycle? Maybe I dreamed this but I would swear you said the motorcycle was in the living room. This was before they were married and perhaps you were joking.
