I am sitting here waiting for the guys from Closet World to get here and install my closet. I'm so excited I feel like a kid on Christmas morning waiting for everyone to wake up. I have a lot of expectations about this and historically that doesn't work out so well for me. 😬
The above photo is a pairing of Michael Kors velvet mules that I happened upon at TJ Maxx while looking for hangers. I thought they would work well for the holiday/birthday season so I splurged and paid the $30 for them. I have paired them here with an old vintage green sweater and a little clutch that I had made by a gal on Etsy with the fabric I purchased in London at the Designers Guild store.
I thought I'd share some of my favorite closet inspiration photos that I have collected for years while I'm patiently waiting.

Oh I would be excited too...I am excited FOR YOU!
ReplyDeleteHopefully the remodel will be the transformation is all you are hoping it will be.
That fabric for the clutch is lovely and THOSE mules!!!!...they are fabulous.
Oh, I wish you hadn't shown me those closets. They are beautiful. I now long for a closet like that. Please show us your before and after. I can't wait to see. You're so good about not having tons of clothes. I cannot say I'm as good as you. I am planing on clearing out my closet. I can't stand it anymore. But I must admit I will be hiring someone to help me get rid of old clothes. I need the help. Some one to encourage me and say it's really good to get rid of stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe mules are beautiful. Great choice for the holidays. I'm sure it will be lovely having an organized closet. I'm pleased with the closet in my current house. It makes such a difference when you can access everything! xx
ReplyDeleteI've toured design houses and new subdivision models with those kinds of closets and I always walk away amazed that anybody could be so lucky to have such space and organization. It's nothing I've ever really known. I had a walk-in closet once but it wasn't spacious. Just rungs, no drawers or cubbies. Barely room to move around, just walk a step in and stand there. Looking forward to seeing yours.
ReplyDeleteI go crazy for nice closets! Love these inspiration pictures. So excited for you. When I renovated our house my closet was a very exciting piece of it because it was just for me and I knew exactly how I wanted it organized. I still love it and I often correct how it looks (moving things around)... it is key to keep it not too full which keeps me on my toes with donating items I don't wear.
ReplyDeleteYes please to before and after! And I love your elegant Christmas colour story with sweater, mules and bag, so lovely. xx
I think I'm almost as excited as YOU about these wardrobes!! Longing to see you pics. Loved your inspos. And LOVED the teaming you put together for your new glam slippers! Rich jewel colours. I'm always drawn to Designers Guild fabrics. How clever of you to have a bag made up, it's so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHugs, x.
So happy that you are sharing all this beauty with us. And to think that we were fearful that you would not continue blogging. Those mules are terrific and as usual your pairing is lovely. xo
ReplyDeleteJanet, I am thrilled for you to have this new closet . . . Waiting not-too-patiently for the big reveal.
ReplyDeleteBest Christmas present to yourself EVER! Hope it meets all your expectations, and I'm looking forward to the big reveal!
ReplyDeleteJust as an aside - Ikea has some great closet organizers at a fantastic price. I redid my closet to provide exactly what I needed at a fraction of the price that the closet people quoted me. Just in case someone on a budget is also looking for this type of thing.

Love those mules! I may have to splurge too!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your closet! I've read for years and seen all of your clothes fit into such a tiny space. I'm so curious to see how it all pans out. I've been decluttering my own closet, since we moved into a new home and I'm trying hard not to let that lead to expanding what doesn't need expanding. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the inspiration closets, love the mules- great find. Recently moved into new construction home and did splurge on closet organizers but it wasn't super fancy at all. The costs add up quickly. Everything is color coded that the mister man thought was silly except it is so easy to see what you have to wear. I think he's been converted. Anyhow, looking forward to seeing the after pics. Best.
ReplyDeleteam excited for you! We have TK Maxx here now! I love it, but no Michael Kors stuff. Good luck J xxx
ReplyDeletealso I just counted the dresses in that wardrobe thing- 20? god know where I'd store my 100 plus dresses! excited for the reveal x
ReplyDeleteDamn i love everything you write about and the closet ideas are the bomb.
