a morning walk

One of the things I like most about living here is that every morning which ever direction I choose to walk, is chock full of the most beautiful homes you can imagine. Most of them were built at the turn-of-the-century. Some during the 1920's. But they are all gorgeous. My camera does not do these homes justice. Click on the pictures to see the details.

This is one of my favorites. A 1920's french chateau.

The detail work on this Victorian is amazing.

I think someone who loves design lives here. The red coral lamp in the window is my clue.

This spanish beauty was for sale last year for a million dollars.

This home is so beautiful in person. That corner sunroom is to die for.

  1. Thank you for sharing these pix! I am a voyeur at heart (although a considerate and kind one--no peeping Tom!). I love to see how others live their lives. May be why I love blogging so much. Your neighborhood looks positively delightful! C

  3. They are so beautiful. It is so great to live in California. Some of the most beautiful homes in the world are right here in our beautiful state. We are still painting. Hope to have time to post soon. But, I know you understand with all of the updates that you have done to your lovely cottage. Hugs, Connie

  4. Janet- You know I LOVE this post!! Your neighborhood is gorgeous! I too say the first photo is my favorite house! Althougth, they are all wonderful. I really like the coral lamp house too- looks like a 'happy' house! A cobblestone walk is next on our agenda, so I really enjoyed seeing that photo. You should knock on door of the person with the coral lamp- might be a new friend! In my last house I had someone ring the door asking if I was a designer (she was judging by the front of the house!) I was touched!

  5. I would like the last house please. I have a thing for white houses as you know, but I also have a think for sunrooms! Also, it looks like it's on the coast and out back is the beautiful blue rolling sea. I'll definitely take it!
