mrs. robinson

i love the film the graduate.  it's one of my all-time favorite movies.  did you know that mrs. robinson (anne bancroft) was 36 years old while playing mrs. robinson?  dustin hoffman was 30.  and did you know that supposedly mike nichols wanted doris day for the role of mrs. robinson and robert redford to play benjamin braddock.  that could have been interesting.

when i received this sweater for christmas, mrs. robinson was the first thing i thought of.
even though i'm not much like mrs. robinson (be quiet) i've always loved her in this film.

  1. You look fabulous as always, Janet! I have the same cardigan and love it. It's so pretty on you! Btw, what are the shoes you're wearing?

Thanks for the link to Jack White's video...love his music. Did you happen to see him on American Pickers a little while back?

One more thing...blogger has changed the commenting format and yours is on full page without the option to subscribe. There is another option to have the comments embedded below the post, which also allows you to reply to each comment directly under it, and also allows readers to subscribe to the post. I changed my blog to that option earlier this week and really like it so far. :)

  6. Speaking of Jack White! You are so funny!
You look fabulous as always and I have to go check out this new song. I don't listen to enough music and it makes me crabby I think.
    Have a great weekend!

    2. You're welcome! :) About the facebook feature below the posts, I forgot to mention that once you save it in the blog posts section, you also have to hit save at the top of the Edit Layout page you are on. You can hit preview to see what it's going to look like beforehand, but must then click save in order for the changes to take place. Hopefully they will show up after that. :)

  16. Janet, you just look great, so simple and chic! I am a year older than you, now I have no children at home I am trying for the simple (and stylish) life. I am decluttering. Did you ever regret getting rid of things when you moved to a smaller abode?

  18. I cannot believe there was only 6 years between them, and Doris Day and Robert Redford would have been the most sexless couple, ever! Love the pics.

  20. love the outfit and love the hair -- very chic. I was informed last night by an 8 year old that if you want to get a song out of your head you just sing the alphabet twice. Good to know. I can't usually stay up late enough to watch SNL, but i really want to see it tonight.
