By the way, I went looking for a straw "Janet Bag" yesterday at Ross and they had not a one. I do have an old oversized beach straw bag from Gap that I'm "Janet-izing" this weekend though. It's not as cute as your bag, but hopefully the bow will cute it up a little.
I've been wanting to get an orchid but I don't have very good luck with plants inside and have been afraid it would not go well. What sort of light do you keep it in?
nita - i was instructed to give them morning light and a diluted cup of coffee now and again. this orchid is 3 yrs old and just rebloomed for its first time.
Janet, I've been giving my orchids a drink of diluted coffee ever since reading that in one of your pasts a little while back. So far no blooms, but the leaves are beautiful, so I keep hoping...Thanks for that tip! This one is beautiful! Karin
How simply lovely! That cushion print is GORGEOUS...and the color of the orchid bloom...OH MY...Soooo pretty! Love love love The Gardener's Cottage...Such a delight. Happy St. Patrick's Day! -Suzanne in Illinois
Ya know - if this is only the second time it has bloomed in three years, maybe coffee ISN'T what it needs. I really can't say - my leaves are getting floppy! And I've only had it about three weeks. I love the color of your blossoms - and what a beautiful photograph. Love your blog!
catherine - all i know is that i've never gotten a orchid to rebloom and since i started following that advice they bloomed. i'll keep it up and see if i can get them to bloom every year.
I gave my orchids the diluted coffee as suggested, and the very next week the plant had buds! Coincidence? I think not. Thanks for sharing the idea. ~skye
Janet, I must say it again...I love the fabric of your cushion! If you don't mind, I would really like to know what pattern that is. It's just soooo pretty. Hope you are having an excellent weekend. -Suzanne in Illinois
I love orchids....antho....when I buy them they never bloom after their first showing....wish I knew how to grow them.
