Roses generously gifted from Bloomist
Hello Loves. Today I interrupt the Covid-19 crises with a sigh of Spring. How are you all holding up? It's all so surreal. The world has been forced to slow down and and just BE. That of course is the good part of all this. The rest is heartbreaking.
If you're looking for a tiny distraction this post may be just that. Bloomist (don't you love that name?) contacted me and sent me a big bunch of their Eco-faux Roses to style. How lucky am I?!
As most of you know I suffer from horrible seasonal allergies. They get worse every year. It kills me that I have a genuine antique rose garden right here just steps from my front door and yet I cannot bring them in the house because of my allergies. I'm ok tending to them but as soon as they begin to bloom, which will be in a week or so, I am a mess.
So these beautiful Eco-faux branches are just what a girl like me needs this time of year. They would be stunning on a round entry table if you have that sort of thing. They are what I would call a show-stopper. Just beautiful and no allergy symptoms.
So even though I wish I could bring the real ones in, these are a wonderful substitute and I highly recommend if allergies are an issue. Even one branch in a vase is gorgeous. I remember years ago when Oprah said NO fake flowers in the house! Do you remember that? Lol, well guess what? I have fake flowers and I'm 100 with that. xo
So lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Janet! How nice of them...so how many stems are in your vase?

Thank you for sharing this Beautiful Bloomquist Bouquet!
ReplyDeleteI love that matte white urn that you have used for the bouquet. Your home looks so serene....an oasis of calm in these uncertain times.
Stay well Janet.
XO
If anyone should be gifted with these faux blooms it is you. You have the art of display.
ReplyDeleteNobody does it better. Thanks for everything. Your blog makes me happy

ReplyDeleteJanet,
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the roses I thought they were real. They are beautiful.
Here in NC, we are in the throws of Spring. The azaleas, dogwoods, Carolina jasmine and Japanese cherries are blooming. The butterflies and bees have emerged. The birds are building their nests and singing the most glorious songs.
For a moment, it makes one forget what is going on in the world right now with COVID19.
Stay safe.
Sincerely,
Debra from SENC
Oh, these faux roses are lovely, and arranged with such beauty and elegance. They are made for your home. Thank you for a sweet diversion in these surreal times! x
ReplyDeleteThank you for the diversion from covid-19. The roses are so pretty and it's good to have a peek at your lovely living room.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful arrangement of roses! We need loveliness in the world just now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect time to receive a beautiful gift! They are lovely! Your floors are so shiny and your house is such an oasis of calm--I aspire!! I hope everyone is able to have a good day.
ReplyDeleteMy last career was as a landscape designer, specializing in flower gardens in the Northeast. I had yards and yards of fresh flowers but I would never cut any of them and bring them in the house! I just did not want to "disturb" the design outside. so then I bought cut flowers from the grocery and put them on the dining room table! My husband used to laugh at me for doing this!
ReplyDeleteWell, there are fake flowers, and then there are fake flowers. These are so lovely! How many branches do you have to make that display?
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that you suffer from allergies. I do also. I find that local honey helps me with the symptoms. Do you have a neighbor that raises bees? Ingesting honey that is harvested closest to your home is the best. Be well.
ReplyDeletewell... Oprah apparently has never suffered with allergies! those roses they sent to you are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteand I got interrupted the other day on the peas and pasta post from the depression. I had found her before and loved her! am glad to be reminded. so THANK YOU!
and stay well my darling bean! XOXO
Dearest Janet, Keeping your lovely St. Therese statue in mind, she said before her death that when she got to heaven, she was going to send down a shower of roses to earth. Maybe your roses are not only a gift from Bloomist (love that name) but also from St. Therese!! How very special! Every one of your posts is always a joy to read as well as the beautiful comments posted by your readers. Can I please reach out to Anita from "Cabin on the Creek" to say how VERY touched we were to see your kind message of condolence to us on the passing of our beloved Cavalier King Chas. Spaniel. Anita, there are no words to express what your sincere words meant to us. Hoping that you are all staying safe & well. With love, Katie from Huntington Beach
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome Katie. My husband & I adopted many dogs over the years, & almost all were into adulthood. So some of them didn't have many years with us. We grieved each loss, but had a small retail shop & had so much support from customers. I know how much it means, as well as being familiar with the pain.
Delete...all is grace!
Beautiful arrangement!
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely! As for the fake flowers in the house comment from Oprah, I say one person's "must" or "must not" is just an opinion!
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous! My son has a lot of allergies so they might be perfect for my home too! Xx
ReplyDeleteI well remember Oprah's remarks as well as my reaction. Not all have access or the budget for fresh flowers year round. In the shop my husband & I had for many years we sold faux flowers, herbs & greens for Christmas. We were know for our realistic offerings & they made a lot of people happy, including me.
ReplyDeleteThe roses are sublime, & I love the soft color. I especially appreciate your style of display Janet...have always loved a very natural free form way of creating arrangements...whether faux or real. Bloomist is a wonderful company & very wise to offer flowers & greens that are good quality.
Doing well here in eastern PA during our current stay at home order for our county. I've painted my kitchen cabinets & helped my dil work on a small cabin outbuilding on their property. She decorates it like a guest house, but it's usually the teenagers who use it in warm weather. Today we painted...I'm exhausted!
...all is grace!
The roses are so lovely, as is your home. I've been thinking of you as I clean and declutter. I've always tended to "let things go" and then do mad dash clean ups. This whole shelter at home thing has changed that. It's our sanctuary so it needs to look like a sanctuary! Not easy for me but I look around and ask myself WWJD? (what would Janet do?) It's looking better!
ReplyDeleteI think we need to have in our homes the things that bring us joy and make us happy. It's hard for me to take advice on anything from people like Oprah or Martha Stewart. You Janet are my kind of influencer and your advice, suggestions are so sensible, thrifty, lovely and livable. These roses are just beautiful and I'm happy that you have found a floral option that does not cause your allergies to flare.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteWhilst I love fresh flowers I have no problem in using fake flowers in the house, both are good in my opinion. I use small artificial displays in the bedrooms where fresh would be unsuitable. Your home looks beautiful, Janet, as it always does and I'm pleased that can enjoy your lovely present without suffering any side effects!
ReplyDeleteLove following you, Janet. Your posts are thoughtful and your photos make me feel like I'm spending time with a friend. Stay well during these unsettling times.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this Beautiful Bloomquist Bouquet!
ReplyDeleteI love that matte white urn that you have used for the bouquet. Your home looks so serene....an oasis of calm in these uncertain times.
