pruning my roses is by far one of the best garden chores ever.
it's like quiet meditation in motion.
they are so beautiful - even in this faded state.
in other news, my dear friend steve from an urban cottage sent me this photo and said it reminded him of something i would wear.
he's right, i would wear this.
so i did.
thanks steve.
and in other good news...
in two weeks the new wes anderson movie, moonlight kingdom will be released.
you can watch the trailer here.
that's pretty much it.
i survived a week with the new blogger format and didn't kill anyone.
hopefully next week will be better.
have a brilliant spring weekend

the outfit looks WAY better on you than that model (seriously)!
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend!
i kindly disagree julie. but thank you.
DeleteHello Janet:
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, best known to Blogger, our comment on your last post, where we have completely taken on board the tip for whiter than white laundry, disappeared without trace into the ether. We trust that this will not go the same way.
Your first image is absolutely lovely, and then of course we are left with those of you looking beautifully elegant and not at all as if you had been out doing a spot of light pruning!
Kellemes hétvégét!
i'm not surprised b/c blogger has been incredibly frustrating this week.
DeleteI like your outfit better too...you wear it better. and random sure is lovely around there!
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend!
You wore it well...very well!
ReplyDeleteI find pulling weeds very therapeutic but I will never cry when the mulch gets delivered and makes that chore non existent.
Can I also just say that I DETEST the new Blogger format. I am all for change. If things stay too stagnant for too long I grow bored. But this new format is for the birds. And it does not make for a more enjoyable blog reading experience. That is all. Now I will stop whining about it.
Have a fabulous weekend Janet!
You look fab as always Janet! Now that I switched to google chrome at work no more hiccups with the blog. Happy weekend my friend.

i also switched to google chrome t. but my reading list is now gone again!!!
DeleteI bring in some rose petals for a few days to scent the room after I dead head mine.
ReplyDeleteSteve was right on the nose with his suggestion.
You do that look well.
I just noticed that your fire hydrants are yellow! Ours are red.
Happy Weekend to you.
XO
I have always loved the classics, denim and tweed will always be in style. As to Blogger, I've had my share of troubles, and still working out some kinks with the postings and comments, I wanted to kill someone for a while, too.
ReplyDeleteThe roses are so beautiful and I love the outfit homage!
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous! (As always). Your blog is such an inspiration and I am looking forward to every new post.
ReplyDeleteI love roses - my dad used to grow them in the garden at home. That's a great outfit on you, I do like the androgynous look.
ReplyDeleteWes Anderson movies are my very most favorite movies ever, I am so looking forward to his new one, I might have to have a mini-festival of his older stuff this next week.
ReplyDeleteYes cheers to making it through blogger's new format, there was some cursing here this week at DaniBP HQ I'm afraid to say!
Gosh, those roses look great and so do you of course. Isn't it nice that Steve looks out for your wardrobe?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the image of the roses in the flower tub. I have a rose arrangement that is well past it's expiration date and I just love to look at it. Ok, today, it's gone but it served it's 'beauty' purpose! Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteNothing like old roses!! Thanks for the up-close looks. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteJanet...the new format had me crazy..oh I still am crazy..it's not like it came and went. I have jockeyed around the old and chrome , can't get to my photos...so I am just writing. Love that outfit...you are really chic.Smiles, Susie

That was my first thought too...love it, it's so classic
ReplyDeletei'm amazed that with your spartan wardrobe, you could copy the outfit so exactly.
ReplyDelete[perhaps steve knew you had all the pieces]
it's really adorable & will be a great look for fall.
i want to add a pile of pearl necklaces : )
your roses are gorgeous ~ even more so in their semi-expired state.
they look more at ease that way.
hope you have a wonderful weekend, janet ~ i plan to try a few alkaline sisters recipes ♥
That bucket of roses is amazing. Looks straight out of a magazine. And Steve was sooooo right about the outfit. I am looking forward to that movie too....I love his movies.
ReplyDeleteLove this post - love roses so much (am at least 6 weeks away from roses starting to bloom in my climate!) so am drooling... I think it is just great that you were able to go into your closet and recreate the outfit! And so great that you have a friend who knows your style so well!!!!
ReplyDeleteOhh that's a nice tub of roses you got there.
ReplyDeleteAnd a pretty spiffy outfit also,
Cold and dreary here, needed the pick me up.
xo Jane
