Hello sweet friends. This will be the 18th year of Christmas in this house. Other than accessories the kitchen is still the same and I plan for it to never be changed or upgraded.
This is the extent of my decorating and I'm pretty proud of myself for doing this! It feels just right to me.
I am wishing you all the loveliest Christmas ever. We've been through so much together and I hope to continue to write here. The comment section is the best part of this blog. I read every single comment and love them all. Take care sweet friends and see you soon. x

ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is beautiful, just perfect as it is. Love the greenery on the chandelier, in fact, might go pop a bit on my tropical Australian chandelier right away. Merry Christmas and Greetings from Brisbane, Queensland.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas ! I love your posts. Best, Carolyn
ReplyDeleteYour house is beautiful so clean and fresh. I lost my love twenty years ago and for twenty years I've thought of him everyday. It took me many, many years to feel half way normal without him.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Janet to you and your family. Your kitchen, your house is perfection.
ReplyDeleteAs always, the epitome of elegance. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAnd a very Merry Christmas to you Janet. I always love seeing the beautiful simplicity of your home. Darby

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and happy new year! I am always so delighted to see a post from you as it is a breath of fresh air. Your entire home is beautiful, cozy, elegant. I have learned so much from you over the years on how to live wonderfully with less and for that I will be eternally grateful!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have your kitchen; it is perfection! The lovely green decor, very simple yet festive (I miss Pepper Trees so very much, being a native Californian, but living far away now). Wishing you Merry Christmas Janet, and a brand New Year filled with everything good: love, health, serenity and prosperity. xxErina
ReplyDeleteI continue to love your house and your Christmas decorations are perfect. I would love you to post some outfit pictures like you used to years ago, as they were inspirational
ReplyDeleteYour decorations are just perfect! The simplicity is very calming. I've always loved your kitchen...well, your whole house really. The kind of place you could sit and have a cup of tea and look out the window. Wishing you a very peaceful Christmas, Janet. I look forward to every single post you write. Thank you for continuing to share.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, dear Janet! Your house is beautiful and tranquil, as always.
ReplyDeletePeace and love, Janet.
ReplyDeleteIt's always such a treat to receive a new message from you! I have been following you for years, and your posts feel authentic and grounding.
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear about your lifestyle before you moved into this house. Were you ever a maximalist? How different is this home from your last one? How do you deal with boredom in your surroundings? What is your favorite color? How do you spend your time? We are all fascinated by you and your lifestyle and would love to hear more!
Oh how I hope you post more in the new year. I just LOVE when I see you pop up in my feed. Love everything about your home! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas from Oklahoma. I have enjoyed your blog for years.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! Thanks for giving us a peek. Always lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw you remodel your home here in blog land, save it really, I thought your kitchen was perfect. It still is. Your bits of greenery even make the bits of red stand out more it seems. The red of the huntsman’s jacket in the painting and the pomegranates, I think, on the table? Just perfect.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! 🎄
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Janet! Why would you change it when it is already perfect. I read all the comments too. 😊Happy New Year.

Why change perfection? I've just arrived home from my daughter's and seeing your post made me happy. I love hearing about your home and the simplicity of your life style. When I feel lonely I read your blog and feel so much better. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
ReplyDeleteI love human sized homes like yours. Your kitchen thoughts remind me of something I read in a biography of Willa Cather. She and her partner Edith Lewis moved into their last NYC apartment together and decorated it just so and they were delighted with it ever after. A lovely approach to appreciating what one has. I send you many good wishes for 2025.
ReplyDelete"human sized homes" is a fantastic description -- thank you!
DeleteHello Janet. I often wonder about the orange grove opposite - is it still a magnificent scent wafting into your house at dawn and in the evening? I'm reading your post and thinking of Pablo Neruda's words right now: "Love is so short; forgetting is so long." Much love from north London. xx
ReplyDeleteI feel such peace when I view your home. It has everything that one needs. Best wishes for 2025.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is perfection! Every one of your posts is like releasing a long breath - tension eases and I feel calm. I love it when a post from you pops up in my feed. Here's to a satisfying 2025, whatever that means to you. xo
ReplyDeleteJanet, your home never disappoints! I agree with others who say that viewing a post from you always brings such a sense of calm. Every room is a delight. Thank you for this post. May the new year bring joy and peace to you.
ReplyDeleteI’m so glad you’re doing well, lovely as always. Each and every photo is just so very elegant yet cosy.I think of you often first because I love your blog and second you were the influence for me to search out Dr. Greger and his daily dozen. Best move ever, I thank you for that and all the beauty you bring us each post. Happy New Year !
