Just a quick pop in to say...I'M HOME. There really is no place quite like home right?! I cut a few ferns, stuck them in a vase and took a some photos to share. One of the nice things is that Country Living left me a few goodies that I had almost forgotten about.
Such a gorgeous rich color that goes with everything in the living room.
I have a lot to get organized so I'll be back shortly. Thank you for all the thoughtful comments you've left over the last 5 months. You have no idea how much they helped me keep my sanity. Larry would argue that last sentence. Ok, I'm going to go have a look at a pretty bird in my yard. x

ReplyDeleteA bird is always such a good start. :-)
What are you up to, now that you are back home?
Home sweet home ..... <3
I know it feels good to be home. I'm looking forward to new posts!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you are back home, where it all looks as lovely and serene as ever!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Home, Pretty Lady! XO, Lor
ReplyDeleteOh Janet! I am late fro this welcome back hostess greeting.
ReplyDeleteThe black armoire is that new! I thought you had a open hutch top on a side board server there, it an amazing piece that speaks volumes in your small space. Love big over sized pieces in small spaces it just adds so much body to its space. As for the velvet pillows, nice gifting and I agree about there matching and blending to everything, it's the black undertones in the blue itself that pulls of off... I could so see black and cream/white mattress ticking, vintage of course pillow shams filled with a feather insert along side of your velvets adding that extract balance to your whites and blacks that we all love about your dreamy garden cottage.
How is it being home, more then Home sweet home, dust? Dusting I am sure was a welcome chore for you now that it's was your dust you were cleaning after.
How is your father in-law going to fair without you underfoot caring for him? I hope all is well ?
Looking forward to more wonderful home postings, and I watch for country living issues with your home featured, you know I will be jumping up and down when that issues is out, we must meet up at a shop in town and have a little chit chat soon, too bad my favorite shop in the whole wide anything is no longer in your sweet neighborhood.... ( SISTERS ).... I loved Laura and I created alot of birdhouse for her shop, along with French Menu board painted art pieces. Her shop was the go to shop when you needed a little or big inspiration and a treat of something old for your home.
See you soon dear, and welcome home.
Xx

I am wondering about your beautiful velvet pillows... love their soft drape... what size inserts did you use? I am assuming they are the 20 inch square currently available at PB.
ReplyDeleteThank you and welcome home
hello anon. i'm using 18" pillow inserts and the pillows are 20". i think that's what gives them the looser look. x
DeleteHello, You have a beautiful home! Do you mind me asking? Where did you get your white curtains/panels? So simple yet perfect!
ReplyDeletehello, thank you. they are from pottery barn - they still sell them!
DeleteHello! I have been perusing your blog and gorgeous, simple décor and it is coalescing in me the idea to simplify once and for all in the New Year in my little apartment. I have been desiring simplicity with the furnishings as well, and when I saw your slipcovers I decided that's what I will do with my couch rather than try to find a new one. Did you make them, or where did you find them? Thank you, and your home is so lovely and peaceful. Happiest of Holidays to you and yours. ~Nicole in CA
ReplyDeletethank you nicole, you are sweet. the sofa is the pottery barn classic. the 2 side chairs are v old and i had the slipcovers made years ago by a local seamstress. xo
