The kind people from eshakti clothing company approached me and asked if I would take a look at their clothing line and write a review for them. I have been approached before by a few clothing companies and for one reason or another have turned them down. But eshakti isn't like most clothing companies. They are a semi-custom clothing company. You can you can read about them and their policies regarding manufacturing right here.

How many times have you found what could be the perfect dress but it's too short? Or it's too low cut? Now that I'm 55+ I'm running into this problem more often than not. This is where eshakti comes to the rescue. I'm pretty excited about this! You can pick any one of their pretty dresses or blouses and they will customize not only the length but also the sleeves and necklines for you. You create just what you need, so it's like a custom fitting garment. The fee for alterations is nominal. They sent me this linen sleeveless shell to see the quality of materials and workmanship. It's excellent. The fabric is lovely and it is nicely lined. It also has the extra nice detail of bra strap snaps on the shoulders too. It's currently on sale for $39, which is a fair price. The entire site is on sale right now. I know I will keep this little top forever. There are so many choices it's almost too hard to decide. Pop over and take a peek and see what you think!
I'm already in love with your floral top! I've been trying to find vintage floral tops and skirts, but it hasn't been successful. And I always have a problem with picking the perfect dress and I'm too lazy to bring it to a tailor. Sounds like eshakti might be the place for me :) Happy Monday! xx
ReplyDeletethank you dear yuko. as soon as i saw this top i was in love too!
DeleteExceptionally cute!
ReplyDeletethank you lisa.
DeleteBittersweet the comment about age & clothes. Never thought I would care, until passing 50+. Why would I want to dress like I was NOT ME ?
ReplyDeleteAdore every year of my life written from my skeleton to skin.
Why hide any part of myself in clothing matching my past age/s ? Want to be ALL me. Not diminish myself.
Glad eshakti chose you to trumpet .
Garden & Be Well, XO Tara
well said tara!
DeleteYou are such a hottie, your hair looks positively lush here.
ReplyDeleteI know, I just had a ruthless clear out, so many of my clothes are too tight and too short, my chin is at my knees so I think I need my dresses to catch up.
you crack me up tabs. i can't tolerate anything tight these days either.
DeleteSo those jeans are baggy are they?
Deletehmmm, not baggy but not tight either...just right. what's your problem? go away.
DeleteIt's adorable and even more adorable on you!
ReplyDeletethanks emily.
Deletelove this top on you Janet! I haven't heard of this company, but will look them up! I am no longer interested in trying to dress like I am 20 or even 30, so this could be the ticket!
ReplyDeletethank you wendy. i hadn't heard of them before either. i'm so glad they contacted me b/c i think what they are doing is brilliant!
DeleteYou look gorgeous, that top is lovely and shows of your incredibly sexy arms a treat! x
ReplyDeletethank you vix...altho i don't know about sexy arms. lol
DeleteThat's a lovely top, you look fantastic & what a fab idea.
ReplyDeletethanks allison.
Deletemy daughter told me about this company but I had never looked into it. the top is really very pretty, and as you stated fairly priced. I don't really need any more clothes now, especially since I retired but that has not stopped me in the past.
ReplyDeleteDarby
i feel so relieved finding them as i'm no seamstress and i get so frustrated with the length of dresses these days!
DeleteYou-look-GREAT ! And the top is pretty cute too !xx
ReplyDeletethank you dear sb!
DeleteThe answer to my prayers! Going there now.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY lana!
DeleteWhat a fabulous concept and I do like some of their clothes. It would be nice if you could see the "finished" product of the item of clothing wanted (with adjusted sleeves, length, and neckline), but I get that it probably isn't practical for them to have that many finished demo pieces.
ReplyDeletei love the concept too melodee. i am going to order a dress and have it altered just to show you guys how it comes out! all in the name of research! :)
DeleteLook at you in color and print! Pink house, English chintz top...I like this side of you! Looks lovely. I also like how you refer to your age as a survey check box. Here in the promiseland, aka Ohio, we'd call you a "Golden Buckeye" :). Looks like a great company. It's fantastic how the internet allows custom/luxury service businesses to exist without traditional overhead.
ReplyDeletei know! hmmm, a golden buckeye huh? sounds alright to me. :)
DeleteMy friend ordered two dresses from them. She was happy with them. They have beautiful clothes. I look forward to trying them myself.
ReplyDeletegood to hear that paige. thanks for sharing.
DeleteLinen and lined...$39 is a great price. So-so linen runs about $18 a yard. Love the flowers and it looks so lovey on you Janet. Hope you are keeping cool.
ReplyDeleteblessings, jill
thanks jill. i think it is very fairly priced. and the workmanship is excellent.
DeleteJanet - LOVE the beautiful top - you look fantastic. Love the floral top with the jeans. Jeans from the thrift store? Would you share the label? Would love some fantastic ankle length jeans such as these. I try this type jean everywhere and can't seem to find ones that look good on me such as these do on you. And, your hair is longer and looks great.
ReplyDeleteGreat styling Janet.
Mary
hi mary. i love these jeans bc they are very lightweight and so perfect for summer. the label says LC lauren conrad.
Deletei've never heard of that label.
Star of "Laguna Beach" and "the Hills". She is responsible for most of the hair trends 2007-2010ish. Side/bang braids, blonde ombré, and "beachy waves". I think she may have even switched to a center part before it became a Kardashian 2009 signature. I think the LC line sold at Kohl's. I always liked Heidi Montag's hair more. It was so blonde and sculpted it hurt me to think about, but I was obsessed with it.
Deletethank you stephen andrew for this LC tutorial. i guess i could have googled it but your version is 100x better i'm sure. why don't you move to southern california?
DeleteHi Janet,
ReplyDeleteLove your new top! Years ago I bought a similar top from Ann Taylor, almost wish I still had it. I might just have to order one like yours. Love how you can custom fit too!
Happy to see you in some distressed jeans because I own two pairs. (lightly distressed like yours) Sometimes I wonder if I'm too old to wear that style but I love them so much I don't care! :)
Linda
xo
it's funny you say that bc i used to have a similar top/fabric from the gap. years and years ago and i regret that i donated it every summer. now i have a new one that i promise to never donate!
Deletei was inspired by my friend J who got a pair of distressed jeans (she's 62) and they looked so good on her. i thought why not?!
Hello Janet,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty floral design. The top looks fabulous on you and you in it. It has all the look of a piece of clothing which will become a very good friend. Surely, it will make you smile and think of sunny, summery days every time that you wear it!
We have never heard of this clothing company but shall certainly seek them out!
The blouse is perfect. I was really impressed with the website. The prices are great, I hope to order something from there soon. Corinne
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic in that! Beautiful pick!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this line before so am happy to find them. The older I get, the less forgiving I become of poorly made clothes. I love details like bra strap snaps!! It looks wonderful on you. Heading over to check them out now. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteYour obsession with posing is a bore. Why would this post need two almost identical photos? It's not as if you are showing a different angle, a side view or the back for instance.
ReplyDeleteBut hey - look - your leg is positioned differently in the second photo! Wow!
Yawn.
Your comments are pretty boring too. Don't you have anything better to do or say?
DeleteReally?!!! Go throw your unnecessary critical energy somewhere else. Janet doesn't deserve it and we don't want to read it. Read another blog if you are that crabby. I read this blog because I am always uplifted, informed and entertained. Go somewhere else, please.
DeleteYou can't even provide a name Anonymous? weak! you criticize, but hey doesn't she look great? Janet is a very positive woman and inspirational.
DeleteHey cutie, you look pretty damn hot, love the top and the jeans. Wish a company would offer me my elasticity back....holler out if you get that email!
ReplyDeleteAnd anon above, get a life, let it be jealousy free.
xo J
now that would be some company! lol thanks janie.
DeleteVery nice outfit! And whatever you've been doing keep doing it as Tabs is quite right on the hottie part!
ReplyDeleteI love your sense of thrift Janet! $39 is a steal !!!
you are too kind sir. x
DeleteI truly love your blog and your poses! I'm so sorry that you have to hear from these sort of people.
ReplyDeleteDawn
thanks dawn you are sweet. :)
DeleteHi Janet, I was sure I read a recipe for Pumpkin Pancakes on your blog. I can't find it in your Food link.
ReplyDeleteWas I dreaming or just mistaken?
xo, Kathleen
i don't think i've ever posted a pumpkin pancake recipe but maybe i have and not labeled it? sorry.
Deletei would use this recipe..
http://thegardenerscottage.blogspot.com/2010/11/apple-cinnamon-pancakes.html
and substitute 1/4 cup canned pumpkin and use pumpkin pie seasoning instead of the vanilla.
oops, instead of the cinnamon. :)
DeleteGeez, I CANNOT believe how young you look for your age. The outfit is so nice and I really like your hair. You are truly an inspiration to keep on the healthy eating, yoga and all the rest.
ReplyDeletegee thanks vicki. :)
DeleteDarn...I loved your blog because you did not shill for companies. Hope this does not become a trend.
ReplyDeleteseeing is as this is the first time in 5 years i don't think you have to worry about it. :)
Deleteand this company truly is one of a kind as far as i know...and v. reasonable.
You look stellar! I will visit their site for sure...

Janet, thanks for the link. You do great work and you look great, too!! Ignore negativity. I've had to do it all day long and it is exhausting, but at least it doesn't grow if you choose to focus elsewhere. Really enjoy your blog and appreciate all the effort you put into it. Thanks. ReplyDeleteYou look great in that outfit and thrifted jeans? amazing! You have a fantastic bod, do you have any pointers for getting in shape? :-)
ReplyDeletethanks cherre. yes, be vegan, walk and do yoga. lol
