the collected look

Hello dear friends.  Today I'm joining the ladies linked below for my take on The Collected Look.  The idea is mixing old and new and creating a look that is just right for you.

My new piece is this Everlane Cashmere Cardigan in a beautiful Acorn color.  Generously gifted to me from Everlane, I chose a size Large because I wanted a loose, luxurious look to it.  I actually had it in mind to replace my worn out house sweater but I keep wearing it out and about. I love Everlane for their cashmere, tees and shoes and their overall transparency and ethical practices.

So I put on this vintage pink silk rose pin and paired it with a pair of vintage levi's, an old t-shirt and my Remi Mules from Madewell, which are on sale right now.  I added the vintage coach bag and I like the whole look.

  2. Janet you are so creative with your looks. How clever to wrap that cardigan. I never wear them because they make my whole body look like the size of my bum which isn't small! I am going to copy that. I so admire your ability to create an effortless, stylish look, and you know I love using anything vintage! So glad you joined us, you always add so much!!

  5. I love your look. Love your sense of design, love the way you eat. I keep thinking of driving up to Redlands one day and actually meeting you in person. Let me know when you'd like to meet. Love your effortless style. I'm now all about buying sweaters in much larger sizes for style and comfort. You have great style!

  6. Janet! I love how you can take a classic cardigan and with the slightest tweak, make it look so fresh and modern. Everlane is my favorite for cashmere and this color is fabulous. I remember way back to the beginning days of blogging and how you talked about wearing Levis! I had not worn them in years and now I wear them all the time. I recently cut the bottom off of a pair and frayed the edges and the entire time I was thinking...Janet would love this!
I love your style for fashion, home and life!

  9. I received a sweater in that color for Christmas, and it's just luscious. Neutral and rich at the same time. Love the way you tucked the cardy in. Sending hugs from chilly Minnesota...a whopping 14 degrees right now! But 6 inches of fresh snow, calm and sunny...beautiful!

  15. Love this outfit it's definitely 11/10 as FF would say! That rose on the cardigan, perfect. Great tip to oversize the cardigan because it looks slouchy luxurious. Also that vintage Coach bag is so good. This has been a great blogger topic I've really enjoyed it! Thank you Janet I hope you are well and feeling okay, and that January is being kind to you. xxx

  16. This is wonderful, Janet. As a woman who has a lot of "old stuff" (not vintage, but been around for awhile) I'm inspired to get it all out and have a fresh look. You look marvelously put together. I love the effortless - "here I am, how do you like me now?" vibe. I try to cultivate that but sometimes the more I cultivate, the more studied it all becomes. You're my style guru. xo karen

  18. You look fantastic. I have those classic cardigans in several colors, not Everlane though (darn it), and I wear them constantly. You wear them with such style, I have such little imagination I never would've thought to wear them like you are. I love how you tucked it in in the front, it shows off your figure. And that rose pin!
