who what wear bardot dress
Hello and I hope your Easter was as lovely as mine.
I lifted my shopping ban (3 months!) and purchased this dress. I wanted to share it with you because, 100% cotton, pockets and $35 is worth sharing. It's from the Who What Wear Target Collection and it's pretty fabulous. These days it's hard to find cotton dresses with pockets at this price point. I like it because you can wear it on or off the shoulders and belted or not. Our summers are brutal here and this is the perfect answer to those days you need to look somewhat pulled together under blistering heat conditions.
It reminds me of this Mark D. Sikes dress. His is $745 and does not include the belt. That will run you another $150.
That's all I have for now. x

ReplyDeleteYou look terrific in that dress.
ReplyDeleteYou seriously look fantastic! I bet you will wear it often. Ok, what a bargain, too.
ReplyDeleteSuper fresh dress, love the sleeve embroidery and it looks like it could be worn brought up on to the shoulders too. You bagged yourself a bargain, Janet!
ReplyDeleteYou wear it well, Janet!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, and very flattering!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteAND THE OLD FASHIONED BERNARDO SANDALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It looks gorgeous - a lovely colour for you. Like it much better than the more expensive dress. Pammie
ReplyDeletefresh cool and stunning! the dress too. LOL xo♥
ReplyDeleteVery fresh, Janet. I especially like the vintage hand bag. I have one very similar to it, and I also have a vintage Aigner that is square with leather accents. You wear it well.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress, and lovely on you. Finding something cool, comfortable, becoming and elegant can be well-nigh impossible. I'm so happy for you that you managed it. :) I had also noticed the scarcity of 100% cotton garments. Does anyone know why this has happened? Summers in central Indiana can be brutal, too. Temperatures in the upper 90's may not sound that bad in many parts of the country, but when combined with humidity levels also in the 90's, it gets downright miserable. At that point, anything other than cotton (or linen) just compounds the discomfort. Again, congratulations on your lovely dress. ..... Lois
ReplyDeleteGreat look on you Janet, perfect length too! You are giving Mark D. Sikes some competition.

I'm happy that you broke your ban . . . that dress is lovely. Perfect for warm summer days. Isn't it fun to treat yourself and not break the bank doing it:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and what a bargain. It looks expensive and hangs beautifully on you.

ReplyDeleteWell, hello; you look adorable as always. It's a perfect dress on you. You're a hot grandma! Hot like 'cool girl' hot! Straw handbag makes a nice accessory.
ReplyDeleteI know you're probably reticent to post anything about the new baby ... I understand ... but just wanted to say hope everything is going great for a&b and really happy for you all.
We had some rain up here north of you today! Will keep us 'in the green' for a little bit longer; such a welcome surprise to still be getting a shower or two this late into April.
Coincidentally, I just spent some time online yesterday looking at the Victoria Beckham for Target collection. Lots of cute little shift dresses; separates. More poly than I like but that's what probably keeps so much of it affordable. For women (including Plus), kids and babies. Sweet; nice patterns. The women's dresses seem to hover around $35. She even offers a coloring book, paper doll and stickers! I guess it's supposed to be a collection with her own young daughter in mind. Love it when Target does this with the designers! The stuff sells out SO quickly, though...
I saw your bardot dress in a Target today. They only had ONE and it wasn't my size; I may still get it online. It was nice to feel that soft cotton fabric, and the decorative sleeve is nice work. It was hot & humid today, so I can imagine how nice and cool the dress would be to wear (gosh, almost 90 degrees at 6pm; why did SoCalif lose its Spring so fast and already feel like summer?).
DeleteJust lovely ❤ love the style..the color..and fabric.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoy your posts.
My gosh woman could you be more beautiful?
ReplyDeleteYou look great! Thank you so much for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteJust divine, Janet! Thank you for sharing your find! xo

ReplyDeleteYou look stunning as always! Love the dress and how did I not know that Mark D. Sikes had a clothing line?! News to me, but I would agree-- save the $700 and go with this one, it looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHi Janet! You look awesome!!!! Also , absolutely no pressure but I need you to post something. Anything! I miss you!!!!!! Lol. I'm joking but still true. :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteJanet, I love it. This brand is hit or miss for me, but this summer's collection is right on "target' tee he. I ended up getting the black cotton dress with the cutwork/embroidered/lace (?) sleeves. people think I got it at Neiman's lol.

I just returned your blog after a two month absence due to life events and see that you may make it private. I do hope not since reading your blog is so calming, but understand if you do. I do love the dress and will have to check out the line at Target.
ReplyDeleteI am off to Target to dig around for this. I just tried on the entire Knox Rose collection; it was all very hit or miss for me, but I did end up with the most comfortable pants I own at $22. This dress looks great on you and comfortable for summer. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteThe dress looks great.
ReplyDeleteI looked at your roses on Instagram and they're beautiful. Have a great day and I hope you keep blogging, I look forward to your posts.
Beautiful dress! An irrelevant question. What do you think about journaling?Do you use a special method? Are you a filofax or a bullet journal person?I would really like to read your point of view. And also,do you meditate? But those are two questions!Efi.
