chambray

Just a quickie post because both items are on sale now.  As most of you know chambray and denim are the foundation of my wardrobe.  I wear both to death with everything.  The shirt is deeply discounted right now right here at J. Crew Factory.   I wear it year-round with everything from shorts to sequins.  I wear it out, tucked in, tied at the waist, you name it.  And now here with these chambray shorts.

Same shorts as yesterday. No one has mediocrity covered like I do.

  1. Cute as a button. Your self-deprecating humor always tickles my funny bone. When are you going home? You must miss your own place, but you are a very kind daughter-in-law to be there where you are now.

  2. I like your shirt with the white shorts. It's a cute summer look. I think you should enjoy your topknot and have fun with longer hair for the time being. Letting it grow just sort of goes with everything in your life right now which is opposite of norm!

    1. yeah, plus i don't know where to get my hair cut here. i do like just pulling it into a pony or piling it on top. it's easier than keeping my bob perfect. x

  3. (I just lost my comment so if you get two I apologize.)
Me too I'm wearing my chambray every day except for when it's drying outside on the clothesline like right now! I've been wearing it tied over sleeveless linen dresses mostly, at least this week. I adore it with your chambray shorts. XO

  5. Totally cute as a button. Also, an innate style that shows in everything. I've suddenly given up on shorts, I don't look good in long ones - proportion - and I don't feel right in shorts ones - skin. But you look great.

  6. Janet, I love your idea of mediocrity. I've never, as an adult, been a shorts person. Wore them all the time as a child and teenager. Still would have looked good in them in my 20s and 30s, but just never wore them. During a really hot spell, my husband kept saying I should wear shorts. He thinks I could still wear them, but why start now? When it's hot I like wearing a long skirt or dress. But you've been wearing them all along, so don't stop now!

  8. Love the entire look, and you can so mix and match stretching your wardrobe with more uses then one. I love this look and on a cool night I may leave exactly on what you are wearing and add a tied sweater or cartagin around your shoulders or a fun linen blazer.

Thank you for the fashion show, you adorable super model.

    Fondly xx

    1. Totally agree with kathy, Vic and many others. Would call it anything but mediocre. Classy and chic is what comes to my mind.
Can't deny it - that Utah air and those daily hikes are good for you. You've got that fresh air/healthy glow if you know what I mean?

  12. You look lovely! I love the shirt although, here in FL, it's so stinkin' hot all the time. I live in shorts, even in the winter:)

  14. You are the opposite of mediocrity. I love your capacity to be reflective in your daily insights. I am sure your life is as complicated as anyone's but you have a marvellous ability to be mindful in everything you observe. I'm loving that corner of your temporary bedroom!

  15. Awww Janet your clothes are far from mediocre. You should see what I'm wearing right now ha ha...as I mentioned before I don't dress up much when I'm just hanging at the house. I was just thinking the other day of wearing my chambray shirt with my shorts too! :)
