Hey there. It's gettin to be fall and all I can say is jeans, yes glorious jeans. It's too hot here to wear jeans in the summer so I'm always happy when I get to start wearing them again. I am going to be posting a lot more fashion stuff because I'm entering the 60+ fashion demographic and I couldn't be more excited. There is a freedom in getting older and I hope to embrace that. You've been warned:)
I personally think this outfit is timeless. It'd look fab on an 8 year old or an 80 year old. In case you are in need of this classic outfit here's how to get the look...
I have the jeans but not the shirt! You wear that combo very well. Excited that you will be posting more style and fashion post! I have missed them.

You look adorable.
ReplyDeleteLike Leslie, I am so thrilled that you post more frequently and diversely. I think I've already enthused about that but saying it multiple times isn't a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with you on both counts, it's great to be in jeans again and yes, there is a new freedom and vigour about dressing to please no one but yourself when you hit 60+. Heavens knows what will happen to me when I hit 70!! Hugs, x.
You look amazing. I love that you include Target links for clothes.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is timeless, but you give it a whole new breath of fresh air! These jeans were meant for your figure. You look fab!
ReplyDeleteJanet - you look gorgeous!! I am a jeans girl myself and love seeing how you style outfits. Looking forward to many more posts as they are so inspirational. I love that you look so polished and elegant and chic on a budget. Thanks so much Janet!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this look! I wouldn't have thought to put the two denim looks together. But now I will! Going to look for chambray shirt. Classic
ReplyDeleteAnd comfortable.
Looks great on you! I just got a chambray shirt from Madewell's summer sale which I bought in a larger size so I can layer it over T's and tie it in front. I've been wearing it with khakis and maxi skirts, now looking forward to pairing it with my jeans when the cooler weather returns to the Northeast coast.

did you order the high rise skinny jeans? They have so many.... I have never worn this brand- do you think they fit true to size? Thx
ReplyDeleteyes, i ordered the high rise skinny. all the reviews say they fit true to size. i will receive mine early next week and i will report right away.
DeleteLove that you are posting more! Yes there is some freedom in what to wear over 60, as I am too. I have decided some things I'll never wear again, like jeans - I just don't find them comfortable. Look forward to getting some more ideas from you.

it's so great to know exactly what you like and don't like. i feel the same way about shorts. i hate the way i look in them and the way they feel. i'll take a dress or skirt anyday! x
DeleteI love this outfit so much. It looks perfect on you, so comfortable and with the wicker bag! Love it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting more and yes keep the fashion posts coming. Lucky us! XX
thanks dani! xo
DeleteI can't tell you how happy I am to hear the age range you recommend for wearing jeans. They are my go to pants for running errands or anything casual. But I recently read that no one over 55 should wear them. I will be 72 in November, & I will never give them up...but it did cause me to think perhaps I should. Thank you for validating each of us & thank you for being such a cute role model.
ReplyDeleteoh i hate those types of rules! i believe we get to do what we want and whatever makes us happy! x
Deletewhat? they're still pulling that old stuff???
ReplyDeleteyou have to give it up if you're over " 55 " or whatever?
if it's done tastefully why do we have to give anything up?
that's for the birds. as time gets shorter it should be MORE fun and less rules!
even given that I tend to be classic and bland probably.
it's maybe why I enjoy the daring people out there. :)
Thank you Tammy! I agree, but that did get in my head. I have a "boy" figure, so I've always felt the most comfortable in jeans. I, too, tend toward classic & bland...denim, linen & lots of neutrals with a pop of color once in a while.
DeleteAnita...the cabin on the creek
that's me tammy and anita, classic with a touch of bland! lol love you guys! x
DeleteWe're the same age, Janet, but I would never guess it if I didn't know. You look great! I've always loved chambray shirts. Some things are just classics. I add my voice to those who are grateful that you are posting more!
ReplyDeleteah thank you jeannine. chambray is a personal favorite and classic! x
DeleteI'm so excited you're posting fashion things! I love that outfit. You're right it IS timeless.
ReplyDeletethank you j! xoxo
DeleteYou (always) look fabulous! Thanks for posting the chambray and jeans together. I have always loved the look of this combo, but remember reading once about avoiding denim on top and bottom (it was called a Canadian tuxedo). Your post has given me permission to wear this again because it always felt right to me :)
ReplyDeleteyeah i've heard that before too but like any rule i think it needs to be broken or at least bent. :))))) xo
DeleteYOU are adorable!THOSE BANGS!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE BAG!I have one similar!
XX
thanks E. x
DeleteI have to admit I never gave up my Martha denim shirts with jeans. I've been in the 60 group for 4 years. It's funny I don't know that my style is all that different than when I was young. I don't mean I dress too young for my age I just kind of go with modern classics. Ralph Lauren white shirt and jeans. I have ventured into hats! They're so fun! Put on a hat and sunglasses and it just brightens your mood. You ALWAYS look fabulous!!!

DeleteClassic! Hope I look as great as you in another 30 years! (I'm about half your age.) :) Love your blog, btw. ~Miranda from HannahsHill.blog
ReplyDeleteawww thank you miranda! xo
DeleteI am getting close to 70 and will never give up my jeans. I think it is essential to buy jeans that are a good fit and don't stretch out. Check out your butt in the mirror, the pocket placement and the amount of lycra can make all the difference. I also love the colored jeans, especially black. They are so great for travel. Don't listen to anyone who tells you that you can't wear jeans later in life. They probably dress like an old lady!
ReplyDeleteRight On! x
