January Update
Oh my gosh you guys, where have you been?! Just kidding, where have I been?! No January Goals or updates, no garden pics, house tours, decluttering or recipes. I've had the Flu from Hell. I can't remember ever being as sick as I was. I'm finally finally on the mend but it has been a very slow recovery. It literally kicked my rear. But I'm so happy to report that I'm among the living again.
It is January 22nd and that just shocks me that it has taken so long. I promise to get back to the biz of blogging and boring you to death asap.

I can't believe you've been so sick, I'm so sorry you got kicked in the butt by this flu. I've heard there's a really bad one going around. Take it easy please and I wish I could stop by with some vegan soup for you. And also a hot toddy. So happy to see your beautiful face this morning! xx
ReplyDeletethank you so much dani. i'm still mending and now L is sick. so the saga continues...x
DeleteOh, sorry to hear this horrible flu bug got you, but happy you’re on the mend! I’m in San Diego and the flu has been one of the top news stories, daily, for weeks now.
ReplyDeleteFeel better, and I’m looking forward to your next post!
Andrea
thank you so much andrea! x
DeleteHi Janet! Glad you are on the mend...I had a horrible flu a year ago, I was in bed for 9 days! I think getting over the fatigue is the worst. You think you will never recover...I have been lucky that I haven't had a cold or flu this season. Especially because we are still trying to get my in-laws house cleared out. So much stuff but also some very cool things I have acquired to sell on ebay. It's unbelievable how much silver jewelry there is, even with 7 heirs it's still going to be too much silver so I will probably end up selling much of it on ebay. There is only a few Tiffanys pieces, some cool rings but the rest is southwestern style.
ReplyDeleteHope you are back to your old self soon!
Linda

DeleteI'm so sorry you have been so sick. I know my mom had it at the beginning of December, and then it came back at the beginning of January. Something bad has been going around and her doctor told her it really compromises your immunity system. Hope you are finally over it, and I hope all your readers stay well too!
ReplyDeletethank you emily. sorry to hear about your mom. that's exactly how it is here. the actual flu is gone but i still feel like i'm getting sick. it's so strange. i just can't shake it and now L is sick so ugh. x

ReplyDeletexxo
omg robin. i could not imagine travelling and catching this flu. that would have been horrible. hope you are well now. x
DeleteThanks Janet. We are supposed to fly to Thailand on Friday, and now the Austrian is sick. OH BOY!! Let us just hope to get these bugs behind us!! I am thrilled the days are getting longer. How is your garden? I love seeing your roses. We have US cousins arriving at the end of the month, to Firenze, then to us in Umbria. THRILLED. Thanks Janet for your fabulous blog. XXO R
ReplyDeleterobin my garden is atrocious. it needs so much work right now but i have zero energy. i hope hubby gets well quick for your trip. xo
DeleteBe well Janet...I know that is such a nasty bug!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your beautiful face again!!
ReplyDeleteYour garden always looks gorgeous. You should see mine!! Serious!! I need serious help, but that is not going to happen. I hope the Austrian gets well too. I am dragging him along, and he is not a good traveler. PAIN IN THE ASS!Can you imagine, he is an Airline Capitain? This flu season has been hard??!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, dear Janet, Please continue to bore me often. Love your sense of humor. xxo R
ReplyDeleteDear Janet, I have an idea- Come visit us, you and Larry. If you are flexible, I could give you standby tickets. One must have nerves of steel for standby tickets, but the price cannot be beat.I am more than 30 years with American Airlines, so can have friends passes. I know that you follow- for the love of a house.Do you know that Joan bought her house in October 2008, same month I bought my house in Umbria- can you believe it?Did you know that Dan {Joan's husband} is a captain with American Airlines. and started withAA in February 1987 just like me. We probably flew together- both based in Dallas.
ReplyDeleteSO DEAR JANET- how about a trip to Italia, with Larry. And on my tickets?
wow robin what a generous and kind offer! i'm blown away! yes, i know joan, who doesn't?! that's so interesting that you most likely crossed paths with her husband dan. the hard part of the offer would be the flexibility. larry is not v flexible with work right now but will be when he retires:) we've always wanted to go to italy so maybe soonish we will! xoxo
DeleteCannot wait, for you to visit. Too funny about Dan and I--both starting at the same time with AA. And Joan and I both buying our houses, and renovating at the same time. I remember when she revealed her walkin closet, and I saw Dan's blazer- I commented that perhaps we {Dan and I} worked for the same company. She is really a sweetheart. Soonish is good.
ReplyDeleteWHAT ABOUT ME!!!!!!!!???
