Last Minute Gifts
You guys I caught a bug and am under the weather big time. I have no energy for anything. We took this hike over last weekend which is the last time I felt normal.
I've added a couple of items on my sidebar for gift ideas although I hope all your shopping is done. The main gift idea I had was the Clairsonic Mia which you can still get delivered before Christmas. It's the number one beauty product I recommend to my clients. It's like getting a professional facial everytime you cleanse your skin. It's that good.
Also, everything at Everlane is so beautiful right now. I'm seriously in love with it all. The cashmere sweaters are gorgeous and they have fabulous gifts for men too. Plus free 2 day shipping.
All full price items at J. Crew are 40% off right now too.
So enjoy these photos while I recuperate 😷. The only good thing about being sick is that no one expects anything from you which is kinda fantastic this time of year. x

Oh I am sorry to hear that you are under the weather...I am too.
ReplyDeleteThe spa where I go sell those Mia gadgets...but with my rosacea I have been reluctant to purchase one. Do you have any thoughts on that?
Think there must be a lot of germs going around out there...
I am laying low today drinking tea, reading blogs and knitting.
I think you're right to be careful of the Clarisonic - I have one I stopped using because even with the sensitive skin brush head, I end up with my face broken out after using it for a while. I believe some skin is just too touchy for it.
DeleteJane
Also, some people have mentioned that it harbours bacteria easily and is hard to really clean. But I don't have one.
Deleteleslie, my experience with it is that if you use the sensitive brush with it and only use it for 30 seconds vs the full length of time it doesn't cause problems. i suppose it matters just how sensitive you are. ask your esthetician. i'm positive you can return it if it doesn't work out for you. but as an esthetician myself, my goal is to reduce all inflammation of the skin so that is the first order of business. i have clients with v sensitive skin that absolutely love it and others don't. a lot has to do with lifestyle choices too. if you are adding on other irritants on top of the clairsonic that will be a disaster. so my opinion is try it bc i know you've been intrigued for a long time. if it doesn't suit you return it! hope this helps. xo
DeleteThank you Janet and I hope that you are feeling much better....I will raise the topic when I have my next facial.
DeleteMerry Christmas to you and all your family and best wishes for the Holidays.
XO
Oh no Janet! I hope you recover quickly and that you have lots of good tea and snacks. These photos are stunning, what a hike that must have been.
ReplyDeleteGreat gift ideas too, one of these days I'm going to try an Everlane cashmere. Rest up xx
Feel better!
ReplyDeleteMay I ask where you live, that you still have green? We only see white here lately in the center of the Great Lakes in Canada! (I prefer to see green)
i'm in southern california! x
DeleteSuch a beautiful place to hike! It's good for the soul isn't it? I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Even though I think I have Christmas under control getting sick right now wouldn't be good. having houseguest for 5 nights it's a bit of a working holiday around here. Then again maybe I'd just check myself into a hotel!! Get rest and remember plenty of fluids!

ReplyDeleteand better yet until then ... just REST. and relax and soak up solitude and coziness. xo♥
Lots of illness going around now. Hope you feel better soon. Take good care of yourself and let the rest go.
ReplyDeleteWe have been having a spectacular autumn here in Nor Cal with the same clear skies and slanting sunshine. Beautiful photos. It looks like there's a tiny glowing object in the next to the last one... intriguing! I hope you feel better soon, Janet.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see that until you mentioned it, Mags! Maybe a Christmas fairy?
Deletei have no idea what caused that either. maybe it is a fairy?! x
DeleteI have a cold too, and although it's not fun (or attractive), I too am enjoying laying low and am binge-watching The Crown on Netflix. So good! I've been considering a Clairsonic, so I might check it out. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteSorry to read that you are not feeling well. Hope you are better very soon.
ReplyDeleteJust take it easy Janet, and you are right no one expects anything from you when you are sick! I guess it's the same with me right now since I am supposed to be elevating my foot. I bought some magazines yesterday and am going to be laying around most of the day. Tony picked up a sample of the Jo Malone Orange Blossom this week and it smells so good. I think I may be getting it for Christmas. ;) I used to have an Origins cologne years ago that had a similar smell, it was called Gloom Away. Like you said it does lift your mood! Hope you start feeling better soon!

for me that scent is so uplifting. i've never experienced anything like that with a fragrance before Jo Malone Orange Blossom! x
DeleteGet well soon!
ReplyDeleteJanet, the photos are beautiful and such a tonic for the soul...although the hike would be better :). I love my Clairsonic Mia and would def. recommend it! This past week I've scored some terrific sale items on-line (B'day gifts and Christmas gifts, to me from me with love, lol!!) one just happens to be a nice blouse from J. Crew.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better, soon!!

I wish someone would have gifted me a Clarisonic Mia when I was a teen. Love mine.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon, Janet.
Merry Christmas Janet
ReplyDeleteFeel better, Janet!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!🎅

ReplyDeleteDear Janet
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you're under the weather! Especially just now. There was a dreadful flu that swept through Oz last winter/spring (your summer). Many people were dreadfully sick and some older people died from it. The Oz flu vaccine this year didn't seem to offer much protection.
Hope you recover quickly enough to enjoy Christmas with your family! Fingers crossed. Best wishes, Pammie
Fresh raw garlic helps you prevent and recover from colds and flu. I press a couple cloves fresh garlic into some cooked white rice-add some balsalmic vinegar, olive oil and fresh grated ginger. Eat it right up. Eat a spoon of plain rice as a "chaser".
ReplyDeleteChew fresh parsley to get rid of garlic breath.
Allicin is a powerful antibacterial only present shortly after garlic is crushed and before it is heated!
Also-I make an “immunity” booster - with raw honey, lemon slices, fresh ginger and garlic. Put it in your tea or your oatmeal!
thanks for these tips. i use garlic and ginger, lemon and peppermint when i have a cold and you are right, they work wonders! x
DeleteGet well soon Janet , I like to browse through your recommendations in the side bar.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family!!
These photos make me miss the West more than I thought I could. I hope you feel better soon. I was sick last week, and while it was tedious, it was also a relief to sit in bed for two days without any expectation. The Universe speaks. :)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Janet. Hope you recover soon. I also have a rotten flu like bug. Sincerely, Debra from SENC
ReplyDeleteJanet, Me again! While you are recouperating(even if you are well!), you might want to watch the movie on Netflix called The Details. It has some bigs stars in it and it is funny. Also, you might want to watch the Australian comedy drama series called Offspring. My husband and I both agree that it is the best series we have ever watched. Maybe, it is still up there on Netflix.
