It's been cold down here in my little neck of the woods. Waking up to 30 degrees is so unlike Southern California but I'm not complaining because I get to wear my coats! I love coats, especially vintage ones because 1. they are cheap 2. they are affordable and 3. the fabric and workmanship are amazing.
I've belted this beautiful black wool coat with my Gucci vintage belt and I'm loving it.
Look at this gorgeous blue and silver lining! So chic.
How are you staying warm? I've provided some links below to help keep you cozy. x
We've had some sudden cold temperatures too! I made my winter coat this year. Vintage coats are where it's at, for sure. Love the labels of those small, long-gone department stores and tailor's shops.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, even you SoCal girls are getting to wear winter
ReplyDeletecoats! But what a beauty, love the shawl collar and elegant lining. Looking winter-chic, Janet. Hugs, x
WOW! And I love that it's from San Francisco - back in the day of I. Magnin's I suppose. xox.
ReplyDeleteSo funny - we are having record breaking temps in Maine - we got to ditch our coats today. The one you are wearing is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteIt is unseasonably warm in the Northeast today- it reached 72!!! Happy to leave the winter coat home. However, I adore vintage coats and purchased 3 old but in beautiful condition (with perfectly intact linings) JCEW wool coats on EBAY this winter and each cost no more than $20 a piece!!! I love how you styled your coat with a belt - thanks for the tip- I will definitely try that. Your style is so inspirational and I have learned so much from your blog. Enjoy snuggling up with your beautiful vintage coats. You look very chic!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful coat! It's both cold and rainy here today so I've been staying inside - cooking, cleaning, reading, and patiently waiting for baby's arrival. :) ~Miranda
ReplyDeleteI'm staying warm by staying in! dangerous out there right now. our state is covered with ice and freezing drizzle and sleet and still coming down! not fit for man nor beast! xo
ReplyDeleteThat coat is fabulous, Janet - and it looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteI remember that BRAND or SHOP from SAN FRANCISCO!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty coat! The vintage ones just have a real look of quality about them. I love the linings and labels so much too! You look so cute in it. Like your hair that way. Is it a loose bun made from a ponytail?
ReplyDeleteKay
You could be the poster girl for Redlands!
ReplyDeleteLovely!
XO
Me too! 😊
ReplyDeleteI love this, the belt is so perfect. Also your hair up with this collar and turtleneck looks beautiful. Ugh it's freezing here today. It looks like a three-sweaters-under-a-coat kind of morning for me!
ReplyDeleteYou have such an eye for vintage!! xxx
You look phenomenal, Janet! Cheers, Ardith
ReplyDeleteYou. Spot on!
ReplyDeleteYou look so stylish, Janet; I think it's great you can enjoy a nice, warm, beautiful coat. I definitely occasionally would enjoy wearing one when I was a lot younger (and thinner) and felt the 'cold' more intensely. The cold nights/chilly mornings continue, don't they! Your coat(s) will get a workout. Stay warm and cozy; hope you have an enjoyable 'last days of February' in the week ahead; maybe March wind on the way, followed by April showers (oh, but this is SoCalif where none of that is much to go by anymore!).
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, chic coat! I love it. Why the hacked-off jeans instead of something more polished? I think even a skinny, hemmed distressed jean would look... better. But what do I know.
ReplyDeleteLove this coat with the belt. The buckle adds interest and much needed bling amongst all the black. Very nice. And... it fits you so nicely. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove your black coat and how you're wearing it Janet! So chic as always!

Very chic as always.
ReplyDeleteWe have moved since this time last year and our new winter is longer.
You are exactly right-
it means wearing all of my coats!
A lovely coat and so well styled with the belt and polo. But, cold? The sun is shining - you know nothing girl! I'm padding about in my ancient hooded sheepskin coat. It reaches down to my ankles and weighs a ton, but it keeps me warm!
ReplyDeleteHi Janet! Thanks again for such a great post! You are my favorite blogger - Hands down - and I read a lot of them! Xxxx Jen
ReplyDeleteMy Dear Janet,
ReplyDeleteAs a long time admirer, a post you did a few years ago, was referenced as an example of me getting out of line which I do admit in this case however harmless. My recollection is making clumsy recollection of you looking fab in a swimsuit however there are those that think this victimizing women? What say you?
Love vintage coats- we have a local store - long out of business- that was called Jack’s. When I find vintage clothes with that label, I buy them!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are well and feeling good. Miss your posts!
Hey Janet,
ReplyDeleteYou look great!! Hope to hear from you soon. We are freezing here in Umbria as well, and temperatures are supposed to drop.
Hope you have a great week. Best, R
