Add the news and what’s going on in the world and this orange guy of this country I have to find a balance to keep myself happy, and healthy. I have almost completely eliminated the news from my life, I get together with friends, and I try to take care of myself with massages, listening to classical music on my way to work, read at nite to unwind and I am in the process of finding a yoga class to attend on a regular basis. I’m trying at least in my free time to keep the drama and bad news out of my life and try consciously to invite the beautiful things into my life!
I so enjoy your posts and your blog! Please keep it up, it’s part of my happy place ! 😘NurseRamseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17817066220041824067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2191490968189022599.post-6451753025963623892017-10-04T14:56:58.224-07:002017-10-04T14:56:58.224-07:00I love your style Janet. Looks good with almost everything! I drastically limit my TV wTchi g especially the news preferring to get my news on-line without the repeated graphic replays of terror or other disturbing stuff. Since doing this I am more at peace and thinking in positively constructive ways to help. Like: affirmative prayer, donating blood, being myself the peace and kindness I want for the world. There really is another way besides fear and discouragement.. these things are also opportunities if ... in my case, I just do t want TV announcers, media programming or anything else in general to dictate my feelings and ideas.. I can think for myself, thank you! And my feelings are more than fear/anger, more practical than punishing - just plain better-- all this just by limiting exposure to toxic stuff. IMHO you are tuni g in too much to TV.
Janice Janicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08714992361552582919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2191490968189022599.post-84834469877420615652017-10-04T08:58:08.177-07:002017-10-04T08:58:08.177-07:00Funny, I wear grey relatively well but camel is aw...Funny, I wear grey relatively well but camel is awful on me. And I love it so much! But my skin has such red undertones that I just don't need any more warmth. You look fab! It's weird, I've simply felt very disconnected from the news lately. It's like it's so bad and has been so bad it doesn't even seem real. I know that might make me sound belligerent, but I just will not engage with it anymore. I just...well. it all goes on and on doesn't it.
I just read recently about Bali. the volcano that is set to erupt seemingly at any minute. they are even evacuating people. I just sat here astonished.
it's like ... when do we expect the plague of locusts?
then there is the drought in those countries who are already starving and dying of dehydration.
it all finally becomes beyond belief.
there are over 7 billion of us now.
as to dealing with it... I feel like the little ant that I am.
I lead a small quiet life. I try to be kind. and I fill my home with peace and thoughts of inspiration. I give what I can when I can monetarily and for me at 72 that will have to be enough.
I believe in mind over matter. and as long as they can keep us afraid of life and of this senseless hating each other... this stuff will only get worse.
I try to think thoughts of peace. and my own gratitude.
so onto camel and white... LOVE IT! I wear it now myself and it never lets me down. and like one reader said... I love it also with black. and we love you AJJ!
you are doing more than your part in keeping people sane and centered and well... just happy I think. :) Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2191490968189022599.post-88730916263571931012017-10-04T06:01:34.462-07:002017-10-04T06:01:34.462-07:00I posted before I read the other comments. It does put things in perspective when you wake up and realize time is finite and make the most of it. I used to get up and turn on the tv all day. Now, I get up, get my son to school, read the items I want too and get to work on living my life. Perspective changes everything! I was SHOCKED at "Friends" who were beating each other up. What do I do? I truly get out and live. I keep updated just from what I see going on around me and the headlines but I refuse to be afraid. My take is we have a human heart problem in all of this- no matter the circumstance. I refuse to stay home and hide. I am going to go out and spread joy, live life fully and I still have some hope in human kind. I work with animal rescues, and I see a lot of hope in each set of eyes I meet. If dogs and and cat and all creatures get it, maybe humans can too. Las Vegas is just the latest, and so far, the most...for now...till next time. I'm sickened to hear politicians say we shouldn't politicize this tragedy. When should we? What else can we do? For those who pray I say have at it. Pray our elected officials have the courage to make some meaningful changes that will protect us all. Pray for the future victims when they lack that courage.
I listen to news radio as DH glues himself to the TV and every talking head he can find. I'll leave the vicarious traumatization to him thank you very much. After Sandy Hook I'm over it. It took forever for the press to leave this state and that community alone. I try to be involved, to make changes where I can and support our CT elected officials who understand there is only one way for the madness to end.
And I think you look adorable and love camel and white and navy or black all day.

Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15320217850943525967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2191490968189022599.post-21845768754262982522017-10-03T17:53:59.752-07:002017-10-03T17:53:59.752-07:00The color combination works well on you. For entertainment I watch Netflix & Amazon Prime.

Loved so many of the comments & agree with most of them. I, too, have had major losses in the last 5 years. My husband died unexpectedly from a massive stroke 5 years ago just as we were planning our retirement, & my oldest son, age 51, died last December from complications of the flu. These tragedies do help you put things in perspective. I still care very much about so many things & the recent news is indeed alarming. In my area, I don't know what's worse, the drug problem or the bad drivers! I consider myself fairly young at 46 but the world is not the same one I was brought up into. (I'm Canadian BTW) I only listen to the news on the radio the 3 mornings of the week that I go out to work (which is only the headlines), otherwise I don't pay any attention at all. It's too depressing and makes my blood pressure (and anxiety) escalate quickly. I try not to leave my forest/backyard unless absolutely necessary.
