I made one for my new husband more than 3 decades ago. My pan was stainless steel, so I used butter in the pan as well as to butter the bread. Well, they turned out absolutely soaked in grilled fat, and my love was not impressed! It was a joke for years, and thankfully I was successful at cooking other things...

I enjoyed reading this, and seeing your spring wardrobe. How fun. Now if we can get our midwest temps up to the 50s and 60s, I'll feel inspired to put together my spring clothes too.

Have a great weekend!
Colleen in ILAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2191490968189022599.post-48474972142849896472011-03-26T12:42:53.792-07:002011-03-26T12:42:53.792-07:00jajaja!!! here in chile we would say "sanguis...jajaja!!! here in chile we would say "sanguish"....maría ceciliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15077079753889048800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2191490968189022599.post-62068812738134407552011-03-25T19:25:29.975-07:002011-03-25T19:25:29.975-07:00I have never heard of this before but it looks del...I have never heard of this before but it looks delicious! They are simply not part of an Australian childhood but I recall my surprise and then total delight biting into my first one when we stayed with my American grandmother on the island of Guam. We don't really have jelly in Australia such as you have in USA/Canada either - jelly is what you make with cristals and pop into the bridge to set and jam has bits in it. Have you ever had a vegemite sandwich? This literally (well according to their iconic ad from the 1950s) "put a rose in every cheek". It is made from yeast so is that vegan friendly?.
