January Update

Oh my gosh you guys, where have you been?!  Just kidding, where have I been?!  No January Goals or updates, no garden pics, house tours, decluttering or recipes.  I've had the Flu from Hell.  I can't remember ever being as sick as I was.  I'm finally finally on the mend but it has been a very slow recovery.  It literally kicked my rear.  But I'm so happy to report that I'm among the living again.

It is January 22nd and that just shocks me that it has taken so long.  I promise to get back to the biz of blogging and boring you to death asap.

xo

  1. I can't believe you've been so sick, I'm so sorry you got kicked in the butt by this flu. I've heard there's a really bad one going around. Take it easy please and I wish I could stop by with some vegan soup for you. And also a hot toddy. So happy to see your beautiful face this morning! xx

  2. Oh, sorry to hear this horrible flu bug got you, but happy you’re on the mend! I’m in San Diego and the flu has been one of the top news stories, daily, for weeks now.
Feel better, and I’m looking forward to your next post!

  3. Hi Janet! Glad you are on the mend...I had a horrible flu a year ago, I was in bed for 9 days! I think getting over the fatigue is the worst. You think you will never recover...I have been lucky that I haven't had a cold or flu this season. Especially because we are still trying to get my in-laws house cleared out. So much stuff but also some very cool things I have acquired to sell on ebay. It's unbelievable how much silver jewelry there is, even with 7 heirs it's still going to be too much silver so I will probably end up selling much of it on ebay. There is only a few Tiffanys pieces, some cool rings but the rest is southwestern style.
Hope you are back to your old self soon!

  4. I'm so sorry you have been so sick. I know my mom had it at the beginning of December, and then it came back at the beginning of January. Something bad has been going around and her doctor told her it really compromises your immunity system. Hope you are finally over it, and I hope all your readers stay well too!

  6. Welcome back! You were missed!
I was reading your old posts and they were great! Sorry you had that terrible flu. I had it for a week and took me a week to build strength back. 😊 January has been ridding out little by little. Painted our living room and walls to upstairs.Moved things around.
Added a few robin egg blue colors and freshness.
Hope you get stronger day by day.

  39. Dear Janet, I have an idea- Come visit us, you and Larry. If you are flexible, I could give you standby tickets. One must have nerves of steel for standby tickets, but the price cannot be beat.I am more than 30 years with American Airlines, so can have friends passes. I know that you follow- for the love of a house.Do you know that Joan bought her house in October 2008, same month I bought my house in Umbria- can you believe it?Did you know that Dan {Joan's husband} is a captain with American Airlines. and started withAA in February 1987 just like me. We probably flew together- both based in Dallas.
SO DEAR JANET- how about a trip to Italia, with Larry. And on my tickets?

    1. wow robin what a generous and kind offer! i'm blown away! yes, i know joan, who doesn't?! that's so interesting that you most likely crossed paths with her husband dan. the hard part of the offer would be the flexibility. larry is not v flexible with work right now but will be when he retires:) we've always wanted to go to italy so maybe soonish we will! xoxo

  40. Cannot wait, for you to visit. Too funny about Dan and I--both starting at the same time with AA. And Joan and I both buying our houses, and renovating at the same time. I remember when she revealed her walkin closet, and I saw Dan's blazer- I commented that perhaps we {Dan and I} worked for the same company. She is really a sweetheart. Soonish is good.
