If you are sick of wedding posts then click away but if you aren't and would like a little Black Friday distraction you may want to watch this sweet movie .  Alex and B's friend Dayten (he's the guy right behind B) made it as a gift to them. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It is super sweet for sure.  I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving.

  13. I feel very lucky to have been able to 'attend' this charming wedding which I can't describe with any other word except my repetitive 'perfect.' Perfect. PERFECT. PERFECT way to cap things off with a video treasure as well. I enjoyed it so much, especially the music! And to see muscles move and facial expressions added to the still photography we've come to know; brought to life! It's a happy place to be with a smile on every face. 'Moments to remember...'

  34. Thank you for sharing this. So well done. What a wonderful reminder of a beautiful day! And, the photo of your daughter in law on the tailgate with the cake is just the best. She is beautiful. And, with the cake and plates in contrast to the truck is just too much. It is perfect. Please put that in a frame!

  38. I've really enjoyed your wedding posts, Janet. I have to admit I used to think it was very strange that Americans could get married at home! It's not so long ago that in the UK we only had the choice of church or register office. But having heard a few people get engaged and say they won't be getting married for a couple of years 'because it takes that long to plan a wedding', I like your approach much better. After all, home is where marriage takes place, not an expensive venue with no relation whatsoever to daily life! I love the thought of family and friends pitching in to do the things that otherwise can cost so much money and are over so quickly. Once again your blog has made me think - thank you :-)

  42. This is the most adorable couple ever... could the bride and groom be more charming or gorgeous! I showed the wedding posts to my 20 y/o son and 18 y/o daughter and they both said this is their idea of a dream wedding. I really cannot gush enough about how much I loved every detail. She is wearing the dress that I dreamed of when I married 30 yrs ago and could not find. My 24 y/o son will be getting married next June and I would love it if they got married just like this. Perfect in every way. Love, love, love it.

  43. i've been away all day and am just overwhelmed by your lovely comments. it is such a touching video for sure. i know i've watched it several times and of course they are my family but there are several moments that bring me to tears. i'm glad the simplicity of the day shines through and you all see it and can appreciate it. thank you so much!

  44. also...fyi, the film was shot on a vintage super 8 camera, not just a computer filter to look that way. the projector sound was only added to keep the patsy cline song from being taken off the internet for infringement rights. :)

  46. Janet,

Just lovely in so many ways. I have never met you, but when the camera showed you initially with a group of women/girls in the video I go teary. So wonderful for you. Thanks for living a real life ...that frankly most of us live...and the confidence you show in your life. Just love this. Beauty in the everyday. Such little snippets of joy your blog brings.

    Kind Regards,

    Ann

  47. Loved it! Reminds me of my wedding in '94 which was in the big front yard of our tiny cottage in Fair Oaks CA. Vintage dress, simple and carefree. Thanks for inspiring and reminding my husband and I that we were cool way back! Good times.
