eshakti

The kind people from eshakti clothing company approached me and asked if I would take a look at their clothing line and write a review for them.  I have been approached before by a few clothing companies and for one reason or another have turned them down.  But eshakti isn't like most clothing companies.  They are a semi-custom clothing company.  You can you can read about them and their policies regarding manufacturing right here.

How many times have you found what could be the perfect dress but it's too short?  Or it's too low cut? Now that I'm 55+ I'm running into this problem more often than not.  This is where eshakti comes to the rescue. I'm pretty excited about this!  You can pick any one of their pretty dresses or blouses and they will customize not only the length but also the sleeves and necklines for you.  You create just what you need, so it's like a custom fitting garment. The fee for alterations is nominal.  They sent me this linen sleeveless shell to see the quality of materials and workmanship.  It's excellent.  The fabric is lovely and it is nicely lined. It also has the extra nice detail of bra strap snaps on the shoulders too. It's currently on sale for $39, which is a fair price.  The entire site is on sale right now.  I know I will keep this little top forever. There are so many choices it's almost too hard to decide.  Pop over and take a peek and see what you think!

  1. I'm already in love with your floral top! I've been trying to find vintage floral tops and skirts, but it hasn't been successful. And I always have a problem with picking the perfect dress and I'm too lazy to bring it to a tailor. Sounds like eshakti might be the place for me :) Happy Monday! xx

  2. Bittersweet the comment about age & clothes. Never thought I would care, until passing 50+. Why would I want to dress like I was NOT ME ?

Adore every year of my life written from my skeleton to skin.

Why hide any part of myself in clothing matching my past age/s ? Want to be ALL me. Not diminish myself.

Glad eshakti chose you to trumpet .

  3. You are such a hottie, your hair looks positively lush here.

I know, I just had a ruthless clear out, so many of my clothes are too tight and too short, my chin is at my knees so I think I need my dresses to catch up.

  8. my daughter told me about this company but I had never looked into it. the top is really very pretty, and as you stated fairly priced. I don't really need any more clothes now, especially since I retired but that has not stopped me in the past.

  11. What a fabulous concept and I do like some of their clothes. It would be nice if you could see the "finished" product of the item of clothing wanted (with adjusted sleeves, length, and neckline), but I get that it probably isn't practical for them to have that many finished demo pieces.

    1. i love the concept too melodee. i am going to order a dress and have it altered just to show you guys how it comes out! all in the name of research! :)

  12. Look at you in color and print! Pink house, English chintz top...I like this side of you! Looks lovely. I also like how you refer to your age as a survey check box. Here in the promiseland, aka Ohio, we'd call you a "Golden Buckeye" :). Looks like a great company. It's fantastic how the internet allows custom/luxury service businesses to exist without traditional overhead.

  15. Janet - LOVE the beautiful top - you look fantastic. Love the floral top with the jeans. Jeans from the thrift store? Would you share the label? Would love some fantastic ankle length jeans such as these. I try this type jean everywhere and can't seem to find ones that look good on me such as these do on you. And, your hair is longer and looks great.
    Great styling Janet.

    2. Star of "Laguna Beach" and "the Hills". She is responsible for most of the hair trends 2007-2010ish. Side/bang braids, blonde ombré, and "beachy waves". I think she may have even switched to a center part before it became a Kardashian 2009 signature. I think the LC line sold at Kohl's. I always liked Heidi Montag's hair more. It was so blonde and sculpted it hurt me to think about, but I was obsessed with it.

    3. thank you stephen andrew for this LC tutorial. i guess i could have googled it but your version is 100x better i'm sure. why don't you move to southern california?

  16. Hi Janet,

Love your new top! Years ago I bought a similar top from Ann Taylor, almost wish I still had it. I might just have to order one like yours. Love how you can custom fit too!

Happy to see you in some distressed jeans because I own two pairs. (lightly distressed like yours) Sometimes I wonder if I'm too old to wear that style but I love them so much I don't care! :)

    1. it's funny you say that bc i used to have a similar top/fabric from the gap. years and years ago and i regret that i donated it every summer. now i have a new one that i promise to never donate!

i was inspired by my friend J who got a pair of distressed jeans (she's 62) and they looked so good on her. i thought why not?!

  17. Hello Janet,

What a pretty floral design. The top looks fabulous on you and you in it. It has all the look of a piece of clothing which will become a very good friend. Surely, it will make you smile and think of sunny, summery days every time that you wear it!

We have never heard of this clothing company but shall certainly seek them out!

  21. Your obsession with posing is a bore. Why would this post need two almost identical photos? It's not as if you are showing a different angle, a side view or the back for instance.

But hey - look - your leg is positioned differently in the second photo! Wow!

    Yawn.

and substitute 1/4 cup canned pumpkin and use pumpkin pie seasoning instead of the vanilla.

plans are underway for the children's museum to set up an even larger building at Jim Barnett Park featuring an earth-friendly "green" structure.
Equally dear are Kipper's chums -- Tiger (a dog), Pig and Arnold (sort
