show time - bottle rocket

i don't know if you are like me but i'm always looking for a good film recommendation.
i don't watch much tv at all but i do love watching movies.

so i thought i could recommend a film now and again.

right now bottle rocket, which was wes anderson's directorial debut is available on netflix instant watch for the first time.
a lot of people have never even heard of this wes anderson film but i assure you that if you like wes you will love this simple and funny film about friendship, love, loyalty and trust.
it is also the acting debut of owen and luke wilson - who were college friends with wes.

martin scorsese named bottle rocket as one of his favorite films from the 1990's.

so there you go.

  1. Owen and Luke Wilson? Clapping like a seal, I haven't seen it but love those two. Nextflix is here now but I'm too miserly to cough up for it.

  3. I've viewed this movie several times and it never gets old. GREAT recommendation Janet. I didn't know that about Martin Scorsese!
I saw Lincoln last night and it was amazing.

  4. Never heard of it but if you liked it I'll give it a look.
I do like those cheeky Wilson brothers and I am a sap when it comes to romantic comedy of which they both seem to act in quite frequently.

  9. There is a film-festival in Vienna, called Viennale. In the 90's they played this movie. No one had any clue about Wes Anderson. I surely did not get the plot. But what I did get where those cool motels, the light and the vibe of the cast. Now I make anyone who enjoys "The Life Aquatic" go and watch this early Wes Anderson movie.

Janet, I noticed we share the love for a certain kind of humour. Arrested Development, Wes Anderson.

Did you ever "try" Parks and Recreation? I did not "get" it at first, but after a few episodes I got hooked. The characters are to love.
And their style is like no other.

    One of my favourite episodes:
