rose bowl style

this past sunday we were at the the rose bowl swap meet and i decided to take a few pictures of the locals.  i thought you might enjoy a glimpse of LA style.

this darling woman was considering this pillbox hat.
it suited her perfectly.

this woman was gorgeous.  her mate wasn't that happy to have his pic taken but he did manage a small smile.

this pretty young woman was just too cute.  she's wearing a vintage jacket and handbag.
her gold flats were cute too.

i'm sorry i didn't get a better pic of this outfit.
the seafoam top and yellow skirt are covered in sequins.  she just glowed.

boots and sundresses and large handbags are very popular.

i don't know who this is but she was being interviewed and filmed.
chambray, skinny black pants and desert boots.

flowy maxi's were everywhere too.

  3. That was fun to see....I have never been to a swap meet. Do you literally trade things or sell/buy? I think it would be tons of fun to ahve one amongst girlfriends in a home. We could trade clothes we were sick of:)

  8. I'd love to go to the Rose Bowl Flea Market.
We have a small one here but there's rarely anything worth buying... mostly tools, old car parts and troll dolls!

  19. I'm there! Totally SoCal and in a great, unpretentious way.

  20. Great photos. And even though I live in California, that SoCal thing is wholly foreign to me. We are really two different states, in a good way.

  21. How fun! We used to go to the Rose Bowl many, many years ago searching for inexpensive home decorating treasures. We'd go early, take the kids, who were in strollers back then, then go for brunch in Pasadena.

  23. Hello Janet:
The individuality of the fashion is so refreshing to see. People unafraid to experiment and to wear the extraordinary alongside the usual. Perfect! Oh, what a marvellous time we should have had just people watching all day long. And, were your sales successful?!!

  29. Oh my I was just there last weekend and found the most amazing wood & steel table/bench. My husband just finished staining the wood today and it is just stunning. I found so many wonderful
things there. It is always a treat to go to. Even worth the LONG line in traffic to get in.
    Love your pics!
