easy

one Big advantage of a small wardrobe is the ease in picking out what to wear.
i mean this outfit is just so easy - and perfect for my lifestyle.

i'm going to do my best to post my outfits more often so you can see my list in action.

have a lovely day.

  1. Janet,
You rock that outfit! The simple chic of it is ageless too. I got rid of my wide legged pants-now I wish I'd not done that. Though like I commented on an earlier post-you could add in a pair of white jeans to round everything out. Have a great day!
p.s. do you change clothes for work, or wear a white clinical jacket over?

  3. I love those jeans! Not very many people can wear wide legged jeans so well.

I want to see your list in action more...I'm way down on my wardrobe but having trouble changing it up enough so it looks like I have different outfits.

p.s. how cute that you have your own personal photographer. Hi Larry!

  6. I love this look, it might be easy but you look very polished. It's your kate-spade-lookalike bag, my favorite!

  7. Janet,

Thank you for showing us that we don't need to shop for clothes all the time and have bulging wardrobes to look stylish, modern and beautiful. You are providing a wonderful service on your blog by being an example of simple yet elegant living in all areas of your life.

  9. If you wore a shoulder bag you wouldn't need to hold your arm up in that daft way!

    3. Definition of DAFT 1. a : silly, foolish b : mad, insane 2. Scottish : frivolously merry
Dear Janet, If you don't want to be "frivolously merry," your adorable summer bag looks like the handles are long enough to wear on your shoulder as well. I would be so lucky to look half as frivolously merry as you. What a versatile and classic outfit. Thank you for sharing...An outfit worth copying! So looking forward to more ideas. The Gardener's Cottage is my very favorite blog.

  12. You have lovely posture. I think that's the real "secret" to your outfits.

  13. I agree, it is simple to choose, what to wear, having a small amount of clothes. I have c. 1/3 of what you have, so I know.
I like having less. When something comes in, something goes out. My motto on just about everything.
But, like someone already said, you really look polished, just like your home : ).

  14. you are tiny it really shows in your budunka dunk! When I was consulting in CA I only had a few things to wear, but I found that I was much more creative with how I put them together. Now I'm off to learn more about AmazingGates.com :)

  15. Janet, you are such a beautiful, inherently stylish woman that even though you have a small number of clothes, it seems like so much more! You are really inspiring me! I am trying to channel Dani "must not be bored with clothes!"

  16. I so appreciate what you have done with your simple wardrobe and you always look so chic and together. I have WAY WAY WAY too many clothes and a HUGE closet (so no real pressing reason to get rid of stuff). However, I am completely inspired by your simple living and have begin paring down a lot of stuff in my life. Who knows, maybe one day I will follow suit with my wardrobe. Best,
    Kim

  18. long time reader, first time commenter - you look fabulously chic and I was SO inspired by your "paring down" post the other day. I ruthlessly went to my closet and pulled 20 items that I immediately put to the ebay/consignment pile and that is just the beginning. You are an inspiration - I love to see your daily outfits! Keep up the great blog!

  22. Hey Janet, I always think you look beyond great and I pretty much think you could wear anything at all.I must say I think you look so good because you have got "it" and it oozes through in your pictures and in the tone of your writing and it really gets anonymous people hopped up on jealousy. I read your blog and think geez I want to look like that and I get inspired not crazy mean jealous. Looking forward to seeing the list in outfits. I would like to request more close ups. Keep on!

  23. An anonymous comment sure gets you the sympathy vote doesn't it? Now we know why you don't delete them!
Have to agree with anonymous's view though, something about that bag doesn't look right, the length of the handles perhaps? Or the way you have to hold your arm to hold it up?
    The clothes look great though.

  26. Followed you from the comments section of FF's blog. Was curious about what people could say on someone else's blog that was negative.

You're so stylish! Wow, you would have such presence whenever you walk into a room or down the street.

I don't understand why someone would read or stick around on a blog that isn't adding to their own lives. Sorry for nastiness in the world.

I made zero effort with my clothes today and will do better from now on. People like you and FF are just inspiring.
