there were a couple of questions re project 333.

Q - kelley from the polished pebble asked what about running shoes and workout wear?
A - kelley, lucky for you workout wear does not count in your 33 items.

Q - marissa asked how i handle my laundry with only 33 items?
A - i do laundry once a week and that works fine for me.

Q - madge asked about bridging the seasons and how i deal with that?
A - i have 2 separate set of clothes (spring/summer and fall/winter) b/c it gets really hot here in the summer and pretty chilly in the winter.

i wonder what's in store for us all this weekend?
happy 4th.

  2. You look like Snow White in the first picture, I wish I hadn't wrecked my porcelain skin by baking for the last 27 years, at least I never tanned my face, that's my one consolation.
I love the White tank and skirt, I could wear White all summer long it makes me feel so happy.
Oh the I phone keeps putting White in caps- it has a mind of it's own.

  4. Have you ever thought of making the "Janet" paper doll that comes with 33 mix and match clothing items? Of course there would be two versions. The Summer Janet, she's all red white and blue and very sassy. And then the Winter Janet who's a little more reserved in her herringbone tweed blazer and riding boots but she's still all that.

That one's for free. You can take that to the bank!

  5. Like the Land's End sailor top - I have become very attached to their striped raffia bag recently!

  7. You always look so classy. I can't believe how you find all of these great clothes at Walmart, Target, etc. I need you to go shopping with me!!! You are so inspiring. I'm a teacher and I am going to try the 33. My problem is that I go to different places and get all of these so-called bargains and nothing goes together. Thanks again for the inspiration.

  12. Hi Janet,

I love your maxi skirt...and for only $2.00!

Working for a dermatologist in my early 20's cured me of my tanning ways. (and I am fair like you) Now I cover up whenever possible.

We have a nutty neighbor who is a former opera singer. She has some weird tradition of blasting loud (amplified) patriotic music every 4th VERY early in the morning. (and she sings with it) Since we live across the canyon from her you can't escape it. It used to be 6 a.m. and the last two years it was at 5 a.m.! The sheriff got involved but she refuses to stop.

    Happy 4th!

  15. You look great in the maxi skirt! I have the Canvas sailor tee and wear it lots. LL Bean has a nice one, too. It is a softer fabric. I am waiting for my first loaf of your bread to cool. It looks wonderful. I believe I will have a slice for lunch! Enjoy your holiday weekend!

  17. I enjoyed the article about tanning - who knew! I am fair skinned and every year I struggle a bit with being so "white". I am not a huge tank top person but I love the one you are wearing, so flattering I may just be a convert.

  19. I agree with PVE - Ralph needs to meet/hire you!

My fave is the long linen skirt. I would live in that one and it's a new look for you that I love.

I've been barefoot for months--it's the only way to be.

  23. You are so photogenic, Janet. The camera loves you.

Project 333 is on my mind all the time. I think it would be a great exercise for me. My biggest road block isn't the clothing limits, it's the accessories. Maybe I'll play along quietly in my own way sans the limitations on jewelry, bags, hats and shoes.

We are staying local. No big plans except a couple of barbecues to attend and a hometown parade Monday morning which should take all of about 4 minutes.

  29. I love how you mix and match the 'high end' with the more economical pieces. I do that with my jewelry, too. I popped over to the Canvas site hoping to get one of the sailor tees, it looks so great on you, but they're sold out of most sizes in the blue. Darn!

  38. thank you for reply. I am English, we have cold weather in the summer and warm weather in the winter, that's why I am all-of-a-muddle. I thought I'd done my 333, then, it got really cold so I had to cheat and retrieve a warm jacket, then it got SO hot and I hadn't selected anything for extreme heat. Never mind it's a great game to play....it's just for fun, I know.

  39. That picture in the white dress IS lazy summer days to me. The perfect "photo-description," I'd love to be wearing nothing but that (barefoot, OF COURSE!) for the next 2 months. You look great! :)

  42. Well Janet....went to my first goodwill store to find some good stuff! I just knew that I would come across some great items like you do....no luck. I was visiting Oxford, MS, "Ole Miss country" and just knew that there would be lots of treasures there. I guess you have to be there at the right time...better luck next time!
