  3. Doesn't it just make you feel good to have those in your room ~
That portrait is stunning on your wall - it was even more gorgeous when I enlarged the picture to look at it. :)

  4. In the last couple of years, I have come have a better appreciation for white flowers. My gardens used to be a riot of color, but then I noticed how nicely the whites show up at night. Especially in the back yard. We ripped just about everything out of those beds a few weeks ago and I'll be adding white flowers and variegated greenery to sparkle it up.

  6. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your question about my self photo. I turned my dig. camera around where I could see the image in the mirror. It took a few tries. And I turned the flash off.
Also, after I saw your shoes I ran back to my thrift because I had seen some about the same. There are gone! I was sad. But now I'm on the hunt!
White Flowers are beautiful and the space is perfect.
    Enjoy your day

  8. Janet,
Thank you so much for answering my questions from your previous post! You are a gal after my own heart--curtains and rods from Target--my favorite store for those kinds of things! I thought your living room curtains looked heavier and I've looked, and our Target doesn't carry anything like that right now either. I'm going back to look again today and see if I can find the one's like you have in your kitchen.

Also, thank you for the information on painting your armoire. Mine was not cheap either so I really go back on forth on what I should do--it was also our first "big" furniture purchase after we were married 25 years ago so it's also a bit sentimental to me as well. Thanks for posting a picture of it today--I love it!

I have to tell you that I also have 3 boys--I'm a bit behind you though as I only have one in college and 2 still in school and at home. My dream is to buy a cottage some day when they are all raised, so I am fascinated by what you are doing--basically living the life I look forward to! Can't wait to read more!

  10. Hi Kelli,

Boy I never thought I'd ever get all of them out of the house! It was such a great joy raising them, but I have to tell you it's pretty nice just the 2 of us again.

  15. I'm a white-flower girl too! They make my heart sing! I always keep white flowers in my antique coin silver mint julep cup by my bed. Sometimes roses, but more often white minature carnations (because of the cost and they can last up to two weeks!) I hated carnations for years, and then fell for the mini whites several years ago and am so glad that Carolyne Roehm brought them back into style!!
